"I hired these guys for a 45sf bathroom tile job. The cost seemed fairly reasonable. The completed job is fair. Pros: the job is done and I didnâ t have to try to figure it out myself. Looks ok but not great. Cons: The grout is inconsistent, there are areas where there is no tile, the toilet wasnâ t fully reassembled,. This was supposed to be a less than one day job that turned into two full days. The second day they didnâ t get done until around 8:30pm. They left a mess. Including grout residue on the floor, toilet, cabinets. The tub was left dirty. My husbandâ s car wash bucket was used without permission to mix grout and ruined(the sponge was dumped in the yard and left.). Trash and cigarette butts were left in the yard. Over all I just canâ t recommend this company. While the completed job is ok, itâ s not great and there are way too many issues, including the fact that weâ re going to have to call in a plumber."

"Once I sent her all the measurements, it took her a little while to get the options back to me.  Overall, they're good designs.  However, they're very simplistic and give general ideas for space planning.  I was hoping to have a better idea for sizes of furniture for the space and some variations on staging.
Jill was very responsive when I did have a question.  I'm not sure how helpful it is to have a virtual design done.  If we lived in similar cities, I'd probably use her again for help with additional designs.

FAQs for tile: ceramic and porcelain repair projects in Howard, GA

People use the terms refinishing, resurfacing, and reglazing interchangeably. Refinishing is a process that repairs old tiles and gives them a fresh new coat of finish. This is also called tile resurfacing or reglazing.

Yes, you can refinish tiles as a DIY project, but it’s important to follow all the steps involved. These include the following:

  1. Clean the tiles or hire a local tile cleaning service to remove all the residue (soap film, oil, grease, and dirt).

  2. Etch the tile to ensure the refinishing solution adheres properly.

  3. Fill in any cracks or chips in the tile.

  4. Recoat the grout.

  5. Repair any missing or damaged caulking where applicable.

  6. Apply the refinishing product, primer, and enamel.

Your newly reglazed tile should last between 10 and 15 years with proper installation. However, higher-traffic areas and moisture may result in a reduced life span. Explore the cost of different tile types to determine which material works best for your home and needs.

Your bathtub and tile refinishing cost will likely seem like a small price to pay for the transformation it offers. Provided your tile and grout are both intact, refinishing will bring a brand-new style at a fraction of the cost.

Yes, most ceramic tile is paintable with specific epoxy or tile paints. However, you’ll want to avoid areas of heavy use or moisture, such as countertops, showers, and bathtubs. Paint can crack, bubble, or wear away over time, especially on floors.
