"They were very nice and professional, but everything they said was wrong with the house I purchased, was wrong. Said there was a small gas leak on the water heater, spent $275 for a plumber to tell me nothing is wrong. They said the furnace was in good condition, but couldn't guarantee how long it would last because it was over 50yrs old. They were wrong again, there was a crack in the heater exchange, so unless we are a fan of carbon monoxide we can not use the furnace. So basically I paid $425 for them to turn things on and not actually inspect anything."

"Mr. Stacy Busch, owner of Radon X, immediately returned my initial call. After explaining my situation, a day was quickly scheduled for the mitigation. I received an e mail detailing the work to be performed and the cost. The process was completely stress free. Mr. Busch did an excellent job at a very reasonable cost. Upon completion of the work, all scrap materials were disposed of and the area the pvc pipe was installed vacuumed. I highly recommend Radon X."

"He saved me from making two very questionable purchases. If you're there while he performs the inspection you'll learn a lot about home maintenance and building code. Pay attention to what he tells you. The reports that he issues are *very* detailed and are designed not just to allow you to make an informed decision on a home purchase but also to educate. I feel that I got my money's worth, and then some. If you buy a home and regret it afterward, you're going to pay *much* more than one or two inspection fees!"

"I waited a month before getting a test kit I called and was told there was something wrong with the Angies list orders but that I would be receiving a kit soon. It wouldve ben nice if they called me to tell me that though. The test results were quick and on par with other radon test I had done locally."

"We suspected a radon issue in our basement. We called the environmental doctor they promptly came to our home and set up a device to record the radon level. Our level was 17. Very, very high. They worked us in less than 2 weeks, repaired the issue, tested again and all was fine."

"Air Duct Cleaning Company came out to our home and cleaned the ductwork.  Our house is approximately 20 years old and the air ducts had never been cleaned.  The service personnel were very friendly, courteous and professional.  We have 2 large dogs and <br /> have been doing construction work.  The ductwork was quite dirty.  Our home is 3 levels and we have a considerable amount of ductwork.  We feel that the workmanship and the quality of the work was of the highest.  We would highly recommend this company for any duct cleaning job - large or small. <br />"

"The service from 1st Inspection Services did great. The price was a reasonable price for the service provided. I had a contractor there at the same time the inspector was there. The contractor made a mention of something the inspector didn't test, didn't see as it was a multifamily house, the inspector went back and looked at that and told the contractor that he was absolutely right. I liked about him is that he was willing to take a second look. The work was great. There was no problem other than what he had pointed out. I absolutely will use this provider again in the future."

FAQs for radon gas testing projects in Huber Heights, OH

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. The gas seeps through cracks in foundations and collects in basements and other low areas. Once you breathe it in, radioactive particles lodge in lung tissue and do long-term damage. Because you can’t see or smell radon, the EPA recommends testing your home every two years—and after major renovations—to keep your family safe.

Yes—every home should be tested. The EPA advises doing it at least every two years and any time you remodel, buy, or sell. On average, one in 15 houses nationwide sits above the recommended limit, and the only way to know where yours stands is a formal test. The equipment simply measures gas levels and won’t change your indoor environment, so the process is completely harmless.

Certified radon professionals—often home inspectors or dedicated radon mitigation contractors—handle testing. These radon testing professionals follow EPA protocols and use calibrated instruments to check levels throughout your house. Hiring a certified radon specialist means results you can trust for real estate deals, insurance requirements, and, most importantly, your family’s health.

Inspectors specialize in measuring radon gas levels, while licensed mitigation contractors design and install the systems that remove it. If your test comes back high, your inspector can point you to a qualified mitigation pro who will size and install the right fan, piping, or other equipment to bring levels down.

No—standard home air purifiers don’t touch radon. They’re built to trap dust and pollen, not radioactive gas. If testing shows high levels, you’ll need a dedicated mitigation system that vents the gas from beneath your home to the outdoors. Relying on a room purifier alone won’t keep your indoor air safe.

Opening a few windows in your home might dilute radon for a short time, but the gas seeps back in as soon as they’re closed. For a lasting fix, you’ll need a professional mitigation system—often a sub-slab depressurization fan—that pulls radon from beneath the foundation and safely vents it outside.
