"We could not be happier with Brandon's work, punctuality, cleanliness, personality, communication, honesty, pricing, and overall character. We actually had contracted to do some extra work for a few thousand. Day 1 of the job, Brandon calls to let us know that we do not need to do the work as he took the time and effort to get other opinions on the installation of a beam. Again, character. He could have easily installed, but he took the time to do right by his customer and that, in our experience, is essentially unheard of. The work he completed for us-on schedule-was more than we could have hoped for. He really does great work, listens to the customer (we are guilty of making many changes and talking far too much), but Brandon is beyond patient and willing to work with you. "After reading tons of good reviews on here we decided to hire United to finish our basement and full bathroom. We must have been the exception because things did not go as smooth as we thought they would. After getting started, there were some times when they didn't show up for days or weeks. A worker once left our back door wide open when he left and we were away for the weekend. The project ended up taking two months longer than expected, my first mistake was not getting an end date in the contract. The price they gave was decent and in the middle of other ones we got, we were to pay for finish materials, united had us buy certain things during the project (paint, carpet, vanity, tiles, bathroom fixtures, doors..) which was fine as that was in the contract. However, at the end of the project Alessandro sent us an invoice for $6000 over what the original quote was for, it had several items he claimed were "finish materials" as well as other expenses, we were never notified of any additional charges during the project, only when we got the invoice, which he wanted us to pay right away so he could "pay his guys and be finished with the job". We couldn't understand why they had us pay for something upfront during the job then gave us a separate invoice for other things at the end. There were many unexpected issues that came up, an electrician accidentally drilled a hole through the ceiling into the floor and wall of the living room above it, that wasn't fixed until the last day when I reminded them and they did horrible job fixing it (Alessandro agreed and gave us a credit to find someone else to fix it). There were things that they told us were fixed and never were, they said they moved a water shut off valve and at the end told us they didn't and gave us an excuse as to why. The week after they finished, there was a leak in the ceiling of the bathroom, they cut a hole in the ceiling to check it then said it was nothing they did, it was the shower above (which never had any issues previously) and we were responsible for having it fixed and patching the ceiling back up. I could go on and on about other things but I won't, I will not hire United again and I have learned a great deal about hiring contractors in the future. I must say United was responsive when ever I contacted them and professional for the most part. If you do hire United, I suggest getting a detailed, itemized estimate, and read it very thoroughly."

"Their designer helped to set out a plan, including 3D diagrams.  This was extremely helpful.  Demolition happened in 1 1/2 days and the crew was able to remove the existing vanities & mirrors without damage so they could be reused.  That was important to us.  All the crew were extremely friendly, professional and skilled.  The plasterer did a terrific job, and fast.  The tile work took longer than expected but was very well done.  The only negative here was that the old floor did not hold up as well during the construction as I had hoped.   The contractor took time to try and improve the condition of the floor and has agreed to give it a second shot.  We do appreciate this  Perhaps if it was covered during demo the wear and tear could have been minimized.
For the most part crew showed up when expected.  Some were better at that than others.  We trusted the crew to be considerate of our home, as they always were, so we did not mind leaving them here without us if necessary.
 When a problem occurred, such as a wrong part, it was handled well.  We made some minor changes during the course of the work and the crew was very accommodating.  
We were able to use the bathroom as scheduled but the glass is not in yet.  A few small touch-ups remain but I am confident it will be handled well.
