"Dave did an outstanding job. When it came to additional work - fixing some plumbing in the basement- there was no pressure to get the work done. His work was clean and he cleaned everything up when done."

"I hired Kenyon AP to do an install of a high efficiency wood furnace in parallel to my existing LP unit. Eric did the full install, including fabricating a custom plenum to mate it to my existing ducting. He came back to revise some of the work at no charge, and did a very thorough job. He was quick, responsive, professional, and accommodating. He's also a wizard with sheet metal, and a great guy to just talk to. Very personable. He takes his work seriously, he's honest, and he will see the job through until the work meets his standards. Eric shows a commitment to quality work that is honestly pretty rare in contractors, in my experience. I plan to hire him again for any HVAC needs!"

"I had a sewer backup that flooded a room in my home. I had roto rooter dude out to my house 3 previous times in the course of a year to unclog my lines. I tried to reach out to rooterman but he was too busy. I hopped on Angies List and looked up plumbing. Farrell bros is what i decided to go with but was hesitant due to the F ratings. Their plumber Mike, i think it was mike (Marine Veteran) was at my house in less than an hour. He snaked and cleaned out the line, but he found what rooterman had missed! He saw that the trap plugs were rotted out and replaced them. Then he used a camera to scope out the line and i found out i had a broken Trap and a belly! How did the Rooterman miss this three times?? Mike ordered me a part and replaced the broken stuff and was very kind. Both of us were Marines so we bonded a bit over that i think. Anyway, he offered to get me an estimate for digging up and replacing the sewer line and told me about the financing. I may or may not go with them for that big job, i haven't decided yet and am trying to find a cheaper solution such as getting a excavator in there and exposing the pipe then calling Farrell in to replace. One thing is for sure, i wont call the rooterman anymore! Mike from Farell is a great plumber. Ignore some of these other crazy sounding reviews, i can tell you first hand that these people are legitimate."

"We are extremely happy with the results of our remodel performed by John Schroeder of JTC Remodeling. We stumbled upon John from a referral of another contractor. He and his brother in law Dale did an exceptional job on a very difficult remodel. John gave me an estimate that was thorough and detailed and at the end of the project there were no surprises. He was on site when he said he would be and didn’t disappear during the job. We renovated an attic space adding a set of stairs from the first level to the attic in our cabin on the Lake. We added a large bedroom, new bathroom, TV area, additional storage, 2 windows, lighting, new outlets, custom shutters, some siding repair and split system Air Conditioning units. Sounds easy, however the floor Joists were not uniform, the space had no insulation at the beginning so it was extremely hot, due to the angles of the roof some of the space was very confining and we had to figure out how to add a set of stairs, plumbing and other items in a very small area. That said, John’s attention to detail solved a major obstacle we had with this project. He consulted with a stair contractor that enabled us to add the staircase without significant impact to our first floor living space. He figured out how to build the stairs to code in a very tight area. John takes his work and reputation seriously. He goes above and beyond to ensure the customer is happy with the results. He did this job over 6 weeks while we were over 3 hours away. We entrusted him with our house and the $40,000 investment we were making from afar. Like any significant project, we had a few issues come our way, however working through those issues were relatively easy. John has a list of subcontractors that are also very talented and trustworthy. We would not hesitate to hire John again or refer him to anybody"

"Chris it’s very friendly impersonal. He can’t be any more fair on his prices. That’s for sure. Came when he said he was coming. Had the job done within a half hour everything worked perfectly. He had to replace a gas line behind my stove. Also having him come to replace some leaky faucets in my basement."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Hudson Falls, NY

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
