"1. This contractor and his service and installation was a total nightmare. They busted some water pipes under the house by striking the sewer vent pipe on top of the house, driving it down and breaking the supply lines to my bathroom. This action flooded under my house. 2. When it rains hard. Water enters the improper exhaust vents installed from my heater and range hood. Water enters my heating unit and leaks through under the house and onto my stove. Contractor refused to fix a week afterwards, telling me to contact BBB or Roc. He does not return my calls and did not show up for two appointments that were scheduled. Beware of hiring this contractor!"

Customers say: Quick response

"While buying a home in Sun City West our inspection reported that attic had blown insulation blocking all the soffit vents. East Valleys crew went to the home and spent hours checking the issue in the attic, in the August heat no less, and let us know that the inspector was mistaken and that the vents were free and clear. They even checked other houses in the vicinity to investigate further. Two other companies who refused to enter the attic ("I know what attics look like") proposed a small number of external OHagin vents instead which wouldn't have solved the issue if it existed. East Valley saved us thousands in unnecessary rework where other firms tried to take advantage. Thank you Mike and your crew!"

"Still a couple weeks away before work can start, but I have signed the contract and made deposit after meeting with one of the owners of JR Roofing. They have a much better product with extensive warranties for both materials and workmanship."

"Circle G has been our roofer of choice for many years, and has always done an outstanding job. We used their services to replace an aging foam roof as well as recoat a newer one; they also took the time to inspect the metal portion of our roof and caulk where needed to make sure everything was as best as could be. I cannot sufficiently recommend Circle G for the professionalism, their work ethic and their constant attention to detail. The one and only roofer in our book: Circle G! "

"I hired Alex (AB Roofing) about 5 years ago and have used him ever since. I am a real estate broker/remodeler and only use Alex as "my roofer". He and his crew are honest, do amazing work and his price is always fair. I text him the inspection report, he takes a look, sends the quote, gets the job done, sends photos and that's it. He is so easy to work with...I highly recommend."

"I was quoted a good price to install five new interior doors. I was told it would be completed in three days. Randy communicated well and was polite but after five days, Randy had only partially completed three doors. His work was subpar and we parted ways. Finish carpentry is not his strong suit."

FAQs for heating cable for roof installation projects in Humboldt, AZ

A typical heat cable uses 5 watts per foot, regardless of the outside temperature. So, if your cable is 100 feet long, it uses 500 watts per hour. Expect to pay an additional $40 to $200 or more per month on your electricity bill. Be sure to turn manual cables off in the summer when you don't need them.

To install heat tape on your roof, place it along the lower edge in a precise zig-zag pattern to maximize coverage and heat distribution. Professional installers secure the tape with specialized clips that attach firmly to your shingles. This method ensures even heat distribution to effectively melt ice and snow while maintaining your roof's integrity during severe winter conditions.

Choosing between heated gutters and roof heating cables usually comes down to budget, appearance, and performance. Heated gutters cost less to install and blend seamlessly with your home’s exterior, making them a discreet, lower-cost option for preventing ice dams. Roof heating cables deliver more customizable and powerful heat along roof edges to handle heavy snow and ice, but they require more material and labor, increasing your upfront investment. Evaluate your roof design, winter weather demands, and energy budget to select the system that works best for your property.

Roof heating cables prevent ice dams by melting snow and stopping ice buildup at the roof edge. Ice damming occurs when melting snow refreezes on a cold roof—often right above the gutter line—and blocks water from draining, which can force moisture under shingles into your home. Heating cables maintain a warm channel that clears ice dams as soon as they form and protects your roof from water damage and structural issues.

Roof heating cables last between two and ten years before replacement is needed, wearing out faster than your roof itself. Their lifespan depends on climate severity, cable type, and exposure to physical damage. Consistent inspections and preventative maintenance—such as clearing debris, tightening clips, and checking electrical connections—can extend their service life and ensure reliable snow and ice protection each winter.

To safely remove snow from your roof, start with a specially designed roof rake, standing firmly on the ground and pulling snow downhill rather than climbing onto the roof. You can also apply calcium chloride ice melt to break up stubborn ice or gently use a secured rope from a safe vantage point.

Keep in mind that large snow slabs can weigh hundreds of pounds and pose a serious fall risk. If conditions are hazardous or you lack the right equipment, hire a professional to protect your safety and your roof’s integrity.
