"We paid an all-inclusive price for removal of the old carpeting and pad, new carpeting, pad and installation. Also included was moving of the furniture in both bedrooms and closets. My son and I were able to move all the furniture before the installers came, so they called movers to come help us put our gigantic king-size bedroom set back together. The installers and movers were top notch, and took their time to make sure everything was right before leaving. K&Y called about a month later to make sure all was well and wanted to know how we liked the carpeting."

"When we moved into our house in late 2015, we hired Bufkin Tile to take out the carpet from the master bedroom and second bedroom and install tile. At that time, the back patio was enclosed and we had a large concrete patio added outside of the enclosed patio. Bufkin Tile also installed the new tile for the back patio. In January 2022, we finally decided to take out the existing wall separating the enclosed patio from the one that was "outdoors" and enclose the entire patio to make a large Florida room. Of course, when the existing wall was removed, there would be a gap in the tile. Luckily, we still had some leftover tile. Rob from Bufkin was happy to come out to our house and check out the project. While he was there, he also noticed another tile that needed to be replaced. He gave us an estimate on the spot that was well below what we expected. We told Rob about our plans and he said no problem, just let him know when the rest of the work is done and they would come over and take care of the tile. He took a piece of the existing grout with him to match the color. Okay, the screen enclosure is completed on a Friday in April and Bufkin Tile comes over the following Wednesday to remove the existing tiles, prep the floor for the new tile, and place the new tiles. On Thursday Dave came to grout not only the newly installed tiles but the entire length of the patio where it meets the house. He is truly the best grouter in the business. It is an absolutely beautiful job. But, we're not done yet. Dave came back on Friday to do an acid wash to make the already perfect job absolutely spotless. We've counted on Bufkin Tile for several different tile installation jobs over several years. They ALWAYS exceed our expectations. Every person who works for Bufkin is an artist. We would never consider hiring anyone else."

"<p>We had previously installed wood flooring in our family room about 2 years ago.  We purchased the flooring from Floors Direct and we decided we liked the flooring so much, we wanted to install it in other rooms in our house.  We went back to Floors Direct to see if we could get the same flooring as we originally purchased 2 years ago and were told it was available in the same color, but in a slightly different pattern (it is a hand scraped engineered hardwood, but with slightly less chatter).  After we took a sample home and compared it with our existing floor, we determined it was a good enough match.  We then had Floors Direct send their measurement person out to verify the quantity of flooring needed and subsequently placed the order.  Typically, according to Floors Direct, it takes approximately 14 days from order (when the material is not in stock and has to be ordered) to completion of installation.  We ordered the material on 3 January, so we were expecting the job to be complete by 17 January.  We got a call from Floors Direct on the following Monday indicating the material had to be delivered from California, so it might take longer than the 2 weeks.  Floors Direct stayed on top of it, contacting the supplier several times to verify the delivery date and keeping us informed along the way.  Once the delivery date was confirmed, Floors Direct put us on the installation schedule so we could make the necessary preparations for the installation (moving furniture, removing base cabinets in the kitchen, etc.).  The installers showed up on time and completed the installation ahead of the modified schedule (tear out of the old ceramic tile began on 19 January and installation of the new  wood flooring was completed on 21 January).</p> <p>Overall, we are very pleased with Floors Direct in their actions to get the material we wanted in a timely fashion and keeping us informed along the way.</p> <br />"

"There are two parts to our purchase with Floors Direct. The first is the initial contact and subsequent visits. We were referred through Angie's List to Jose at Floors Direct. He was AMAZING. There wasn't a request he couldn't handle, there wasn't an impatient bone in his body and he was ALWAYS there to talk to us. We wanted hardwood floors throughout the first floor of our home, replacing carpet. He showed us hardwood and laminate floors, taking us through the pros and cons of each. We eventually decided on laminate floors. Jose gave us Floors Direct's best estimate and we paid a down payment. About a week after, we learned of tile floors that LOOKED like hardwood. Jose said he had them in stock. We quickly picked out what we wanted and Jose reconfigured our entire order as well as our schedule to install the new tile. He did it with a smile. If everyone in business was as polite, courteous and respectful as Jose, the world would be a great place.  <br /> Unfortunately, not everyone associated with Floors Direct is like Jose. The actual installers of our floor did their job but didn't make clear what their schedule was. Our tile was delayed, so they spent considerable time just lounging in our yard on the first day of work. We had a large entertainment center that they were paid to move -- they didn't even try to move it until five days into the project and when they tried they decided not to do it, which altered how they would install tile around the entertainment center. Worst of all, they left messes everywhere in our house, including our garage, back yard and bathroom (eww). Their inability to not clean up after themselves made our house smell and our yard messy. When these issues were brought up to Ramon, who was in charge of the installation, he acted as if he couldn't care less. He took his check (which there was a miscommunication on) and left. Jose apologized profusely for Ramon and his workers but couldn't do anything more about it.  <br /> Ultimately our floors look great, so through all of the problems we still got what we wanted. The bottom line is that Jose and the folks at Floors Direct are great -- they deserve an A! But their workers left a lot to be desired. They deserve a C. Average it out to a B. <br />"

"Durham & Sons put in my last HVAC system over 12 ears ago and I've had a service contract with them. Recently a $2000 part went and I verified that replacing it was not a good investment given the system's age. They took the time to explain options in detail. "Carmen is extremely professional, knowledgeable, hardworking and friendly. He came into a job after another reneged. He steered us in the right direction. Not only is Carmen doing beautiful vinyl wood floors and laying new carpet, but turns out we needed our powder room sub floor replaced and our front door replaced due to rotted wood. Nothing is too much trouble. He can do it all! I only wish I knew Carmen before I hired someone to install my granite counters and kitchen island. "The 2-man crew showed up at the appointed time and vacummed the entire carpeted areas to be cleaned. They used a specific machine  designed to scrub, rinse, lift the pile and extract the dirty residue. All and all I thought the job was well done.  My carpets were not excessively dirty but the results were acceptable.  The hight traffic area in front of my husband's recliner did not turn out as well as the rest of the carpet. It took approximately 10 hours to dry enough to re-vacuum and put furniture back. The carpet was cleaned by 11 am on the scheduled day and I revacuumed and put furniture back the following morning. <br />"
