"It went extremely quickly and well.  It cost a great deal as they charged to move each heavy piece of furniture.  I blame myself as I did not get any other bids -- had to decide and finish quickly -- and do not know if this was standard procedure. They did a great job of installing and very, very quickly.  Again, I should have studied the billing a bit more up front to see exactly what I was paying for. <br />"

"Contacted Floor Specialists of Martin County on their website, indicating our desire to purchase hardwood flooring for several areas of our home, as well as laminate flooring for our guest bedroom. I received a response within minutes directly from the owner, Jerry. He indicated that he was unavailable due to an injury, but referred us to Vicki and Neal. At the store, we were greeted by both. We were purchasing hardwood flooring for the first time and had done quite a bit of research. We were pleased to see that they offered all of the most desirable brands. They were very patient and took their time with us, allowing us to take several samples home, not just once, but twice. They understand that flooring is not changed often, and they want you to be certain that you are getting exactly what you want. Once the product we wanted was determined, an appointment was made to have exact measurements taken. The person taking measurements was prompt, and took care of everything quickly. Once the materials were ordered, but prior to installation, Neal came out to our home to assure that the measurements were precise. We were in the process of having other work done at our home, and were expecting delivery of our guest bedroom furniture. Vicki arranged for us to have the flooring delivered and installed prior to the delivery which was appreciated. The installers were on time and worked quickly. Although that room was empty, they helped move a few items in the closets to finish the work. They left everything neat and clean. We were so impressed that we were thrilled to see them return to install the hardwood flooring in the living area and stairways. We were told to allow 5 days for the installation which requires precision, particularly on the stairs. They worked so efficiently, they finished in 4 days. Again, they cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day and did incredible work. They moved all furniture as needed, and Jerry even provided felt pads to have the installers put on furniture legs before replacing. Vicki and Jerry stayed in touch through the entire process to make sure things were going smoothly. Before leaving, the installers left us with hardwood flooring cleaner and a soft mop provided by Jerry so the flooring could be cared for properly. If you are considering wood flooring I recommend you start with Floor Specialists of Martin County. We were extremely pleased!"

"This job finished all the floors in the house. Floors Direct has done them all, most with laminate and two with carpet. Their price has been good for all the jobs and always in line with the estimate. The installers are the stars of these jobs. Howard Ebarts' crew has done all the installations and has always done a quick, efficient and professional job. - - I rated 'punctuality' down due to the salesman's mistake on scheduling. We expected the crew to show up around 9 - 10 AM but they were sent on another job first and didn't arrive until afternoon."

"Everything went exactly as advertised - he was in, explained what he would do, and finished on schedule. My only complaint was that he said the carpet would be dry in about two hours. As it turned out, took almost six hours to be dry enough to walk on. <br />"

"From beginning to end, there were professionals that were professional, knowledgeable, and truthful of what could be done. The sub-contractors outside of their design and cabinets, were first class rated as well. Patricia Soto, the designer, was spot-on with options, best use of space, considering and including all requests - exceptional. Jay, whom I spoke with and met a couple of times, professional, reasonable, and listens to any concerns. Ray, the cabinet installer - exceptional and very knowledgeable in managing installation from planning to modifying existing structures to meet the customer, electrician, as well as plumbing needs I will submit separate reviews for the sub-contractors - Franky's Drywall, Treasure Coast Electrical, Coastal Plumbing, and Vaughn's Glass & Mirror - all professional, timely, cleaned after themselves daily, and completed the work without hiccups. I also used LBU Lighting, a lighting store who stand by their products, professional, excellent customer service and have different options for lighting."

"A true "Mom n' Pop" LOCAL operation. Professional, efficient, and friendly. Can't say enough about them. Call them for a consult and you'll know, too, that there's no need to go anywhere else. Wasn't sure anyone would want a small job, but I needed carpet replaced in closets due to water damage. They were so happy to help me as if I were redoing a 4000 sq ft home. Thank you!!!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Indiantown, FL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
