"We were very impressed with Joe and his crew. They were very professional, courteous, efficient, and quick. They showed up on time and were done by 4pm. There were only 2 visible holes in the walls (which were so neat, and the drywall squares that were removed were kept and can be used to repair the holes). All of this was explained to us in the pre-job estimate which, by the way, was exactly what we paid in the end. All of our questions were answered to our satisfaction. We would definitely recommend First Choice Plumbing for any plumbing needs--big or small."

"I was getting ready to sell my condo and had a problem with the turn off valve in the shower. All of his employees are very cordial and will come out to your residence or attempt to help you do the work yourself. He offered to show me how to fix the turn off valve. I got half way through the job and had a little problem, so I called and he walked me through spending 10-15 minutes showing me how to complete the job. I will definitely recommend them and absolutely use them, again."

"James was punctual, assessed the situation, determined my desired results and got to work. James vast experience was evident from start to finish. He is not the kind of contractor who is just collecting a paycheck. He wants to satisfy the customer and takes pride in his work. He did a fantastic job at a very reasonable price compared to other plumbers I've used. I will be calling James again and recommending him to friends and family for all plumbing needs!"

"My wife & I moved to Port Saint Lucie, FL two months ago and looked up 5 star rated plumbing companies to perform minor work in our home when we first arrived. She selected Genesis Plumbing Services as a result of reading all their 5 star reviews and the feedback from their customers. Ed Hickman was the licensed & insured member of the Genesis Plumbing team that came to our home previously and returned to our home to successfully complete our toilet replacement. Ed is very professional, courteous and focused on customer satisfaction. As additional background, Ed previously successfully installed a new water shutoff value that had broken off. He completed that quickly, efficiently and cared about the quality of the work he provided. This was confirmed when another company that does our AC work, saw our new water shutoff value that Ed installed and they said, "who ever did that installation is a true craftsman". They went on to say that everything was lined up, soldering joints cleanly done and the value is installed in the correct direction. They said this is excellent work! I told them Genesis Plumbing Services did the work and they said, that is an excellent company. Kudos to Ed Hickman for that excellent quality water value installation at hour home. Next, we had an original house toilet from the 1990's go bad and called Genesis Plumbing Services to get it checked and ultimately replaced. Ed said he would take that work order as he was already familiar with us and our house. We were notified by the Genesis office staff that our appointment was on Tuesday and Ed Hickman would do the work. My wife and I were very pleased that Ed was returning to our home to do this work. Ed came in and examined our toilet and explained in detail the problems he found and the potential cost for a replacement. He took the time to explain the details and listen to our questions. It was a reasonable quote, timeframe and we accepted it. Ed was punctual, as always, called before arriving and professional, courteous and always wants to do the job right the first time. He successfully completed the toilet replacement and throughout the replacement process showed us the problems he identified, explained what he was going to do to fix it and did exactly what he said he was going to do. The bottom line is that Ed Hickman did an excellent job replacing our toilet in a timely fashion and cleaned up, so that you would never know he did any work in our bathroom. Ed is an excellent team player working for Genesis Plumbing Services and should be recognized for his efforts. Genesis is an excellent company and we will be contacting them for our future plumbing needs. Keep up the great work!"

"I was told it would be $75 plus materials. I had a small leak coming from a joint in the pipe under my kitchen sink. They were here 15min. Needed a new gasket. They gave me a bill that just had $135 for labor and parts. When I questioned the assistant about how much a gasket costs he didn’t know. The bill wasn’t itemized. The plumber should have given me the bill so he could answer my questions. The leak is fixed but on their website they offer senior citizen discounts. I guess at 75 I don’t qualify. They also charge extra if you use a credit card. I chose them because my sister said they were good and had fair prices. They must’ve changed ownership because I think my charge didn’t warrant the time they were in my house. Won’t recommend unless you don’t care about the cost."

"Mr. Rhodes wore a mask and was professional and knowledgeable. He gave me options for repairs and promptly proceeded without judgement, regarding my needing the least expensive repair. He also found the source of a slight sewage odor and capped off the drain pipe by the washer water valves, without additional charge. I would recommend Mr. Rhodes to anyone."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Indiantown, FL

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
