"We only had a few pieces of mechanical things, like a water softener, water heater to dispose of from our house. After the phone service told us the minimum charge was $188 for 1/8 (?) of a truck, we assumed that the two upright containers would surely only take that amount of room, especially since we had used them before and had an understanding of how big the truck was. When the workers arrived, they had a smaller truck, so - guess what? the charge was higher! In addition, thinking of the space in the truck we'd seen before, we had added a couple of items to what we wanted disposed. The total cost, including sales tax, wasa $$322! AND the electronic processing system forced us to choose a tip amount. A tip for what? A tip for doing their job? VERY UNHAPPY"

"Very well. From our 1st visit with Matt it was clear that his goal was to find us a refrigerator that would be a dependable resource for our needs. Kind of cool that he let us vent about our experience with our current fridge, then affirmed our choice of the Cafe model. Nice to deal with a person who listens first, then offers suggestions. The follow through was even better, as Dave, who may even own the store, called to advise about delivery availability and confirmed our time. On delivery day 2 men arrived 1 minute early, took a look at our site, and went to work. Neat, clean, no nonsense, 3/4 hour included delivery, takeaway of our old unit, hook-up water, and demonstration of the features. Impressive operation, great follow through. We’re impressed Pat and Dan"

"Chris and his team were really great to work with. Professional. Good communication from start to finish. Everything was on time. We would definitely work with him again. We are very satisfied with the final result. He was also very reasonably priced. We got three quotes for our job. One came back at 3 times as much as Chris's quote, and the other was almost double. They paid attention to details like taking care to not ruin the yard as they accessed our job site from the road and cleaning up everything when they were done. We can't say enough good things about Chris and his team."

"This company is very unprofessional. They do not notify you when they make big changes especially the part about charging quarterly to every two months. The receptionist is the worse! Super unprofessional, rude, and bad attitude."

"This was kind of a random project - removal of two very large mirrors in our bathroom. I had trouble finding someone willing to come out for a relatively small but difficult project, but when I called Jeff he responded very quickly and was willing to take it on. He was prompt, professional, and very reasonably priced. I have recommended him to friends already and will definitely be calling him for future projects!"

"Walters acquired me as a customer from LePage in 2020, where I had a 3 year price guarantee that started November 2020. After a year, Walters started increasing my price without advance notice. This quickly got out of control, going as high as a 91.8% year-over-year increase! Overall, my bill increased 140% in a 2 year time period. This is much higher than inflation, which has only topped out at 8.6%. Walters is price gouging on an essential service – this is indisputable. When I contacted Walters, they gave me a line about their costs going up and offered me a $7 quarterly discount. They wouldn’t budge to make any reasonable concession in pricing, even though I offered to pay an inflation adjusted price from my original billing. When I was transferred to a supervisor, he was conveniently out of the office. I had a similar experience with Walters when I was with them previously. At that time, they admitted that they automatically increase their customers’ bills after a year. This is a disgusting, unethical practice and results in bills that raise endlessly. NEVER use Walters. Their pricing tactics are predatory and unethical. Walters should lose their trash hauler license in C*** Rapids due to their unethical business pricing practices on an essential service. I have left Walters and gone to another provider who was willing to provide a reasonable price."

"I’ve used a couple different moving services in the Twin Cities over the last 10 years and sadly my only negative experience was with Two Men and a Truck from Burnsville. Did my items get from point A to point B, yes. Was my experience wonderful? No. If you’re looking for which company has provided me A+ moving service, you can read through my previous reviews. I was moving from my house that I sold and into an apartment while my future home was being remodeled. My closing on the house was in less than 24 hours. I was surprised that Two Men and Truck did not use runners to protect the floors. They did not wrap items to protect the walls or items. They even smashed my sheetrock on the basement ceiling when moving a couch out and banged up and left marks on several door frames, they didn’t apologize for any of it in the moment. I had no choice but head to a home repair store that night to purchase items to fix up the sheetrock and repaint the ceiling and door frames that night and return early in the morning for another coat of paint before the final walkthrough and closing. I called Two Men and Truck and they offered to come make repairs later in the week, which obviously was too late. They did return some financial compensation, which I appreciated. Overall, the stress wasn’t worth it."

FAQs for waste, junk, building materials and debris removal and hauling projects in Isanti, MN

To throw out stained, broken, or infested mattresses or couches, call a junk hauler or take it to your local landfill yourself. If it’s infested with pests, you might want to call a pest control specialist near you. If you have infested furniture, there's a good chance you have an infested home, too.

Tipping furniture removal services is not mandatory, but it is a thoughtful way to acknowledge their hard work and professionalism. If you're pleased with the service, consider tipping junk haulers 5% to 10% of the total cost or $10 to $20 per worker. This is especially appreciated when the job involves heavy lifting, navigating stairs, or handling bulky items. Tipping not only rewards the workers for a job well done but also fosters a positive working relationship.

If your furniture is in good condition, you have a few options:

  • Donate to charities: Organizations like Goodwill, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, and GreenDrop often accept furniture donations and may offer free pickup services.

  • List online: You can list your items for free on local online marketplaces or community groups to find someone who needs them. Giving away your furniture not only helps you clear space but also benefits others in your community.

The cost to haul away junk depends on the haul’s size. A single item costs $60 to $150 to haul, with each additional item adding $20 to $40 to the total price. Hauling away a full truckload of trash or other junk will run $400 to $800.

Yes, some furniture retailers will haul away your old furniture when they deliver your new items. This service may be included in your purchase price or offered at a discounted rate. It's important to check with the store to see if they provide furniture removal and whether there are any requirements, such as a minimum purchase. Utilizing this service can save you time and effort in disposing of your old furniture.

In many cases, you can dispose of furniture in a dumpster, but regulations vary by location. Some areas prohibit items like mattresses or upholstered furniture due to environmental concerns. It's best to check with your local waste management authorities or dumpster rental company to understand what's allowed.
