"Huft Home Services replaced my regular HVAC company when the owners retired. Comfort Master had installed my system in 1995 so we had a 25-year personal relationship. Ed and Donna were still using hardcopy records. When I called Huft on May 12 and talked with Elizabeth, we were able to confirm and establish the status of my ongoing services. We discussed the 2 different areas of work needed, HVAC regular maintenance and an urgent plumbing service for a leaking irrigation valve system. We scheduled the irrigation repair quickly, but I was very disappointed to discover that the repair person was unable to do that work and found out that Huft actually did not work on irrigation. Fortunately I was able to find a provider who came out the next day and did exceptional work – I highly recommend Authentic Landscape/Salvador Gallardo for that work. However, rather than make a complaint, I figured I'd wait to see how the HVAC service went. That appointment was scheduled for a couple weeks later. Anthony was fantastic. He called to let me know he was running late from his previous job. Maybe it was just because I wasn't up on current services, but I am highly impressed that he was able to take many photos of my system and his work – and instantly email them and my invoice to me! He went over in great detail the status of the equipment and anticipation of potential repairs needed over time along with likely cost estimates. We also discussed possible replacements for when I decided I was ready for a new unit. I will certainly continue my maintenance with Huft, and not just because I'm prepaid for a couple more years of biannual services."

Small jobs welcome

"He installed a new toilet for us. I have health issues that require a taller bowl, 19 inches. Or more. He knew that we were senior citizens, so he found an economical yet classy toilet that met the requirements I asked for. He was quick with the installation and left the area cleaner than he found it. He was very friendly and courteous. I enjoyed talking with him, as I had worked for a plumber in my younger days and had done all the bathroom needs up until 5 years ago. A M Plumbing will be my go-to service from now on."

"Mac and Carl both worked on the pipe in my front yard. I had a leak that has been there for years. Got several quotes from several people all saying it was a huge job that would cost thousands of dollars. I called Two Brothers Plumbing for a quote after reading some rave reviews on Home Advisor. I was not disappointed. They came out the very next morning (at no charge, free quote….AMAZING!…because that is evidently not common). They examined my water line and were confident they could fix the problem easily enough. They had come in a Friday to diagnose the problem but contacted me on Sunday to set a time to come out the following day and got right to work. The existing pipe line, water spigot and valves needed updating in order to fix the leak. They fixed the issues and replaced the old parts. And they were AFFORDABLE. I cannot say enough good things about them. They were kind, thorough and professional. They were able to diagnose and explain the problem to me and fix it. They were quick to make an appointment and get the job done. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of plumbing assistance."

"When my big-dollar Moen fixture in the kitchen began leaking in 2 places above and under the sink after only 5 years, I called Howard for advice, thinking it could be repaired.  He spent time on the phone with me discussing the problem and possible fixes.  In the end, with his advice, I elected to simply replace the Moen altogether.  I bought a similar Price-Pfister fixture at Home Depot and scheduled Howard to do the work.  He arrived promptly as scheduled and had it done in less than an hour.  After a week, the new fixture is working fine and leak-free.  Fine professional job. <br />"

"I called John first but he could not come out until the next day due to other appointments. My wife wanted it fixed that same night so I had no choice but to call another business. They did a terrible job installing the replacement burner. They then tell me that I needed a new valve. I didn't quite trust them so I called JRW Plumbing. John came out later that day and found out it was leaking gas. The last repair man did a terrible job and was missing parts. John was able to get the burner installed correctly and replaced my gas valve. He was professional and awesome. I would definitely hire again."

"Rod and the team was super great to work with. I had a hiccup when the tub I had purchased for Rod to install came out of the box with a dent. It turned into a long day and Rod was super gracious and helpful through it all. I will call All Phase next time I need plumbing assistance."

"When we called, his wife said he was in Sacramento on another job, but she would get ahold of him and see if he could stop by our house on his way home. She found out he would and it would be about 5:00 p.m. if that was okay with us - we told her that was fine. He stopped by (got here right at 5:00), and assessed the problem - our son worked on the leaky pipe the day before and wrapped it up good, but it still leaked out some (not as bad as it was at first, however). So, Mark and his employee went to work right away and cut out the pipe and put in a new one. During this time, he explained to our Grandson what he was doing. Then, after he finished, he pointed out another small problem we have with the pipe coming down from the toilets and told our son what he could get to fix that problem for us. He was very nice, friendly and overall very professional. The job was finished in 15 minutes! Very impressive!"

"It is always a pleasure working with Mike. His politeness and professionalism will brighten your day. When he took my case, I knew I can put my plumbing problem behind my back because he is that good. He thoroughly examed the pipe under the shower pan and found the problem was incorrect caulking of the shower fixtures. He showed me how to fix the problem by myself. When I asked him how much I owe him, he said no charge. I asked again to be sure, and he said he was not in the house long so he won't charge me. But believe me, he stayed at least 20 minutes to make sure all the issues were discovered. Thank you so much Mike."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Isleton, CA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
