"Mr. Turner was great to work with.....his response to give me an estimate was quick. He explained what my double drive needed and what he could do to repair it. I was very satisfied with his cost. A date was set...and he and his crew arrived and provided a quality product...complete in just a few hours. I watched after it's first rain, the water rolled off, away from my house, Perfect! I love my new driveway and highly recommend Mr. Turner and his crew."

"Bill came out with his daughter Lacy and gave me a complete, professional estimate.  I got two other estimates and Bill was the most competitive by far.  It was clear that he had decades of experience in addition to a sterling reputation on Angie's List.  My drive is a challenge; long with a fairly steep grade, circle at the top, areas that needed total replacement and two portions that co-join with concrete.  Bill got the job.  Within two weeks, Joey, his operations manager and six workers showed up ready to roll.  In a day and a half, they worked non-stop in withering Tennessee heat to totally repaved and replace portions of drive.  The end result is terrific.  I could not be more pleased with the work they did.  All were courteous and hard-working professionals.  If I had other asphalt work, Construction Asphalt Paving Service would be my first and only candidate for the job.    <br />"

"If I were able to do this for myself, this is the quality I would have attempted. The driveway was more than 30 years old and was laid on the existing contour of the lot, allowing rain from the street and yard to flow towards the house. There were also oak tree roots beneath the drive that raised and broke up the surface. Brachen took up the old drive and cut deep enough to remove the roots under the gravel bed. They reshaped the drive slope to improve the drainage and laid a solid gravel base. The asphalt topping is even, with smooth lines and edges. I am extremely pleased with the job. Several neighbors have commented on how much they liked our new driveway."

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Johnson City, TN

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
