It was in middle of summer 2019, hotter than you can imagine inside my house even with 2 portable a/c units running in LR trying to mitigate some of the heat while waiting on my a/c company to help me. I found Calahan Construction & Air... Stacy came out quickly diagnosed the problem right away, my unit was dead (I had been nursing it over last few years) but I couldn’t purchase a new unit until I got in a place to fund a house remodel. So, I needed a used 5 ton unit - not an easy ask, but Stacy found one and installed it w/in 24 hours for a price that did not break the bank (about the same cost as 2 top of the line portable air conditioners, which I returned!) He was professional, responsive, and quick at a reasonable price! Stacy listened to me, took ownership of my problem, was kind & caring and best of all got the job done quickly at a price I could afford...all in the middle of summer (his busiest season) when other air conditioning companies are charging premium prices or up selling, Stacy Callahan got me what I needed not what he could sell me! "I was considering 3 companies to do the work. They provided the best deal. The installation went very smoothly; finished in a day. Very happy with the process to that point. Had some problems with some logistics afterward. The papers weren't processed properly to iniitally run the solar panels (it took 2 months till we figured out the electric company hadn't 'turned on' the panels). There was also some problems with the paperwork for the tax rebates that slowed things down. I talked to the owner Mark, who was very sorry for the problems and offered a small refund, even though we don't really know what happened. He wanted to be sure I was a happy customer, which I am. I was impressed by his professionalism. However, I'm still not seeing the savings that I was told. I've had my house energy audited, installed Nest thermostats, and still not seeing a major decrease in my KWh usage. I can only assume that we are having a hotter season than last year; hoping to realize savings next year.

"We had 1 issue after installation and they came out right away & fixed it. Great attitudes and were on time as scheduled. Very professional crew. We had just remodeled the basement for 1100 sq ft living space to be added to the home, so I didn’t expect the basement to be such a mess afterwards, so would recommend them emphasize that the client will be cleaning all that up after the install. Very messy after the foundation was dug up around the whole inside perimeter. We still haven’t had the money to replace the new flooring that was pulled up. I should have paid more attention to the contract. That’s on me, not them."

"James came and assessed our situation and provided us with an understandable explanation of what we needed done to address our situation. We approved the job and he came back with a crew that spent two full days at our place working to address our needs. He was accompanied by a representative from Safety & Environmental Investigations Inc and he was very helpful with addressing our situation and our needs. He recommended a humidifier and assisted us in getting that ordered. They also recommended wall mounted ventilation fans be installed to allow for greater air exchange and helping to eliminate humidity problems. Mr. Burks was good to call and check on how things were going as the job was in progress. He returned as he said he would and approved the job before submitting a bill for final payment. We would highly recommend this company for any mold or crawl space needs."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
