"Quality work! Showed up on time, worked for over 5 hours, got both of my showers working again. One was completely inoperative, the other din't divert all hot water, causing hot water to run out during showers. Other jobs a collection of minor items that needed to be done, and I will hire Bubba again for future jobs, minor and major!"

"It went very well. After a bit of a wait, I received a very comprehensive report of 88 specific items as well as bacteria, fungi and particles. Each Item detected over the EPA drinking water limits had an explanation sheet. Also provided was a contact person at the company to address any questions you had about the report findings. I thought the service was well worth the $300 just for the peace of mind. I intend to use the company on an annual basis going forward."

"Excellent service! The technician arrived on time, quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. Over the years, I've had several home appliance warranty companies. Without question, Complete Appliance Protection is the best one I've ever contracted with. Their monthly price is a little higher than most, but I do have their best protection plan with $0 deductible. You get what you pay for..."

"The owner of the plumbing company returned my call promptly and came the next day to perform the work which included installing a new toilet in a newly constructed bathroom, installing the shower trim in a tiled shower and installing gas logs in a newly constructed non-vented fireplace.  I provided all the fixtures.   My mistake was NOT getting an  estimate of the cost BEFORE I allowed him to do the work.  The work took him and one helper approximately 3 hours.  During that time they went twice for items needed to complete the job (a short, plastic water connection for the toilet and a valve for the fireplace logs).  He was courteous and professional, but the cost of the job just blew me away.  He charged $1,200.00!  I feel that the charge was excessive and will NOT call this plumber again.  I realize that I should have obtained an estimate of the cost before he did the work. <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Jones, LA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
