"Highly recommend Sundown Gardens for any landscaping needs. My husband and I were shopping around for a spruce tree this summer, and Sundown Gardens had absolutely the best selection. Lots of trees to choose from and all looked very healthy and nice. We ended up buying a decent-sized spruce and two other maple trees. The prices were very reasonable, with the price of the spruce tree being less than other places we shopped around for the size of the tree. Installation prices went down if you installed more trees. They called the utility companies to mark with flags before they came to plant. On install day, we were both at work and when I got home, I wished they had planted the spruce tree facing a different way (as all trees have a better side). After some thinking, I decided to call them back to ask about it, and they sent a crew out to turn the tree the way I wanted. Very happy with their service, and it seems like they are willing to make the customer happy. Give their nursery a look if you are looking for plants or trees!"

"They responded immediately for my request for a quote, were at my house the next day (others never returned my call or called back 3 weeks later). <br /> They gave me a quote and an approximate time they could start.  They were able to start earlier than anticipated..  They arranged for the utility services to be marked and for an electrician so I only needed to work with Allen Irrigation for the whole job. <br /> They completed the installation quickly.  Were responsive when I asked for a couple of adjustments and additions and kept to their stated pricing.  <br /> I love the effect the landscape lighting has on my yard and no longer having to play hose jockey! <br />"

"We contacted Greenleaf several months prior to when we anticipated starting the project.  Mark, the designer, met with us at our house and proved a tentative design a couple of weeks later.  We were having a sunroom added on the back of the house to replace the existing wood deck and wanted a hardscape patio area added on after that work was done.  We have 5 dogs so we wanted a significant area paved because we could not keep maintain a decent grassed yard with the dogs.  He had to create a design that was pet-friendly and low-maintenance.  After the sunroom was done, he came back out and realized that he needed to revise his plans based on the elevation, etc.  A large retaining wall needed to be constructed and he was always very cognizant of the easements and property lines.  We ended up having the property re-surveyed and staked which ended up being very helpful once the work started because they used every inch possible for the patio.  On a project of this size there are a lot of options and questions and Mark was always very prompt in responding, helpful in his advice, talking through options and patient with our questions.  We met at a local supplier they use and selected the pavers.  His recommendations were not my first choice in looking at the magazines and we trusted his opinions since he had the experience and could visualize the finished project.  We are very happy that we did because the colors accentuate the beautiful patio and play well with the brick of the house.  The job was scheduled and work was started on that date.  Most of the work was completed by 2 employees from start to finish.  We liked that they kept the same people on-site and these men take pride in their work and pay attention to details.  There were times when the planned design could be or needed to be modified once the work started and they always asked us about how we wanted it to be and made recommendations.  Our paver/sandstone seating area is a beautiful custom creation with arm rests.  They worked with us by installing supports for a Trex fence section that we planned to install later.  The owner and designer stopped by frequently to check on the job.  The job took about 7 weeks and they were on the job every day.  After the hardscaping was completed, they had a crew for plantings.  The designer had chosen all low-maintenance trees and shrubs that would provide various colors throughout the seasons and kept in mind the eventual mature height.  They made sure the job was completed to high standards and came back for yard repair, clean-up and re-worked areas that they were not completely satisfied with.  We are so happy we used Greenleaf for this job and to support local businesses in the process.  We now have a backyard that can be used year round with a gorgeous custom, quality patio area that minimized some grassed area - and the dogs love it as they spend most of their time on the paved area!  It has cut down on the dirt and mess we have to deal with as well as yardwork. <br />"

"<p>If you are looking to have one of the most beautiful lawns and gardens in your neighborhood, Bella Vista is the provider of choice.  Bella Vista offers top notch service.  The teams are extremely hardworking, and meticulous.  Bella Vista is the third provider we have used for our landscaping service, and we would not use anyone else after experiencing the Bella Vista way over the past three years. They are happy to help you with any landscaping issue, regardless of the time of year. For example, if you have large trees whose branches come down in the middle of an ice storm, Bella Vista is just a phone call away, and always willing to help.  We use Bella Vista for all of our lawn services, including mowing, and tree trimming, in addition to bed maintenance, and we have been very happy with the results.   I think it is important to note, that Bella Vista is on the more expensive side of landscaping providers. However, this company is a classic example of" you get what you pay for."  To my husband and I, the extra money is well worth it for the beautiful results that they provide. If you want excellent service and attention to detail, you will not find a better company.</p> <br />"

FAQs for holiday lighting add or remove projects in Jonesville, IN

If climbing ladders or handling wiring isn’t in your comfort zone, hire a pro. Look for installers who post clear per-foot or hourly rates, carry insurance, and have solid reviews. Comparing at least three quotes helps you spot fair pricing without sacrificing safety. Skipping credentials to save a few dollars can cost you far more in repairs, so pick a qualified team and enjoy a safe, eye-catching display.

Yes, booking between February and September often scores lower rates because demand is light and pros have open calendars. You might even negotiate a discount package that includes removal or storage. If the budget is tight, ask whether a handyperson or an off-season permanent-light install makes sense for your home and timeline.

Determining the number of holiday lights for your house depends on your home’s size and specific decorative vision. Your project requires 10 to 20 light strands for a basic exterior display, with 100 lights allocated for eaves and an additional 10 to 20 bulbs for each awning.

For trees and substantial shrubs, allocate five to 10 strands per unit to achieve complete and balanced illumination across your property.

Tipping isn’t mandatory, but it’s a nice way to thank your installer for a job well done. Most homeowners offer 10% to 20% of the total bill or round up to an even figure if the crew exceeds expectations. A small extra goes a long way toward showing appreciation—and may help you snag priority booking next season.

Yes, you can install holiday lights yourself if your property layout is straightforward and your electrical system is secure. Homeowners who are confident in their ability to safely handle wiring and use proper equipment can save money with a DIY approach.

However, it is crucial to test all outlets thoroughly and secure the proper ladders and safety gear before starting. Careful planning and adherence to safety guidelines are essential to protect yourself and your home while achieving an attractive display.

Start by clearing the area of loose debris, damaged shingles, and anything that could trip you up. Test outdoor outlets and, if you’re unsure, bring in an electrician. Use a sturdy extension ladder (or scaffolding for very high spots) and never work alone—having a helper steady the ladder is non-negotiable. Taking these simple steps keeps you, your roof, and your new lights safe.
