"First off let me start by saying that I first spoke with Mr. White who initially gave me the quote for all the work I needed done in an older house I had just purchased.  He was very professional and I got a great impression from him, and he gave me the lowest price for the exact same work that I had quoted from other electricians.  For that reason, and the good reviews on here, I went with them.  It was not Mr. White, however, who came out.  It was a single electrician, I forget his name, but only one man that came out to perform all of the work. There was a LOT of work, so I was surprised when they only sent one person.  It ended up taking several days, and I had told them before that I needed the work done as soon as possible so that I could move in.  I'll start with the bad:
1) The electrician left wire clippings, screws, and generally all of the trash he created doing the work all over the house.  I don't think he picked up a single piece of trash after doing any work.
2) The outlets near the sink in the kitchen and near the sinks in the bathroom are supposed to be GFCI outlets, per code, within a certain distance of the water source.  I'm not an electrician yet I know this, its pretty basic.  Well he installed regular outlets when he switched them out.  When I asked why he had not put the GFCI outlets in the bathrooms and near the kitchen sink, he just replied "Well it wasn't specified on the work order...."  I would think that a certified electrician would know better.
3) I had two vent fans installed in both bathrooms, as there were not any previously, and at first I thought he did a great job, and for the most part there's nothing to complain about.  But a few months later I needed to get into my attic, and when I did I noticed that where the vent fan had been installed over one of the bathrooms, he had CUT INTO THE SUPPORT BEAM OF MY ROOF ALMOST HALF WAY to fit the fan enclosure in.  And crudely cut at that.  I can't confirm this, but what I assume happened was that he drilled the hole for the fan first and then discovered it wouldn't fit once he was in the attic.  I was home the entire time he was working on this and he never mentioned this to me.  So that made me pretty angry when I found out.
4) I'm not sure if this is common, and if I'm being irrational here.  But when the electrician installed the new breaker box- a $1000 job by itself- he did not label anything besides the major appliances (AC/oven/etc.).  I understand it would be very time consuming especially with only one guy there, but I was hoping that with spending $3000 with them within a few days that he would be able to label my new breaker box.  Now it would have definitely been easier with another worker there, which he said, but therein lies the problem, why send one guy for a job this big? Obviously because they didn't have anyone else available, I understand that, but they could have at least let me know that so I could have expected it to take as long as it did.
Ok, those are the reasons for the 'C' review.  I would give them an 'F' because of the things that bothered me, but honestly besides that the work done was 'A' quality, so it averages out.  Heres the good:
1) He showed up relatively on time every day, although he left at 5:00 on the dot whether or not he was in the middle of something, but hey I understand.
 2) Besides the aforementioned complaints, the rest of the work was done as it needed to be:  All outlets replaced and all switches replaced well.  The breaker box was installed well (minus my (possibly irrational) labeling complaint).  The ceiling fan was installed well, and although he refused to balance it exactly (which I understand would be time consuming and he had a ton of work to get done) it still was a pretty good job and I am happy with the fan.
3) There were some extra charges along the way (vent fan upgrades) but at least as far as the initial quote goes, they were about $500 cheaper than the next electrician.
All in all I can't speak for the company, just for the electrician they sent out.  And that's really all I have to go off of since he did the work on my house, so I would say that's fair.  He did what needed to get done (for the most part) but was overall just a sloppy worker.  I will not be using them again.
I think it all comes down to the fact that when you spend this much an a large job to be done on your house, you hope that the company appreciates your business more and that you receive better customer service.

FAQs for outdoor lighting plan and installation projects in Joshua, TX

Permit requirements for outdoor lighting vary depending on your location and project scope. Simple fixture replacements don't require permits, but projects involving new electrical circuits, extensive trenching, or significant system expansions often do. Local building departments establish these requirements, and many professional electricians handle permit applications as part of their service package.

The timeline for outdoor lighting installation varies based on project complexity. Basic systems might require only one to two days for complete installation, while extensive lighting networks with numerous fixtures and complex wiring needs could extend to a week or longer. Weather conditions, property accessibility, and soil characteristics can all influence how quickly professionals can complete your installation.

Outdoor lighting offers both practical and aesthetic benefits that many homeowners find valuable. Beyond enhancing nighttime visibility and security, well-designed lighting can highlight architectural features and extend outdoor living hours. While installation represents a significant investment, quality lighting may potentially increase property appeal and could contribute to overall home value.

Some outdoor lighting projects are suitable for homeowner installation, particularly simple solar fixtures or low-voltage systems that plug into existing outlets. However, projects requiring new electrical connections, permanent wiring, or integration with home electrical systems demand professional expertise. Electrical work carries inherent safety risks, and improper installation could create fire hazards or code violations.

The operating cost for outdoor lighting depends primarily on your fixture types, bulb selection, and usage patterns. Energy-efficient LED fixtures consume significantly less electricity than traditional incandescent or halogen alternatives. Controlling your lighting with timers, photocells, or motion sensors can further reduce energy usage by ensuring lights operate only when needed or beneficial.
