"Overall experience was positive. The diagnosis was good and only required a $15 part that was able to install myself. My frig is working great. While my total cost for the repair was $80 which included the $35 diagnostic fee, the lowest other price quote was over $400. I am very pleased with this new type of appliance repair. I will be recommending this my family and friends."

"Very well. The repairman checked the washer thoroughly, and determined that we didnt need to replace the motor at this time. We really appreciated his honesty and professionalism. Will definitely call them the next time we need any household appliance repairs."

"Delivery was on time, they were careful moving the appliances in the house and did a great job installing and hooking up appliances. One of the installers ( not sure, but I think his name was Manuel ) went through a lot of extra trouble and work to get old dishwasher removed and new one installed, as the previous home owner had put new wood flooring in the kitchen up to the dishwasher, which meant the flooring was build up in front, preventing the old one from coming out easily or the new one to fit in. Husband finally had to remove 2 wood planks so there be just barely enough room heigth wise to get the job done. It was not easy!"

"We replaced our old furnace with a new high efficiency furnace. Shawn came out and helped us figure what to get and gave us 4 options and estimates for each. We chose the third estimate. We set up the appointment, and set the date. Two men came to our home and did the job of removing our old furnace and AC and installing our new ones. It took 2 1/2 days to do the job and it turned out wonderful. The men were great to work with and did a terrific job. They were very polite and fun and answered all our questions. We have used Blairco for about 30+ years, and they come twice every year and do maintenance on our furnace and AC."

"The freezer part of our 30 year old Sub Zero refrigerator stopped working. Two different professionals advised us to call Appliance & Refrigeration Hospital. I called and they were able to schedule Dr. Grant to come out the next day. He arrived on time and was professional, efficient and nice. It was obvious Dr. Grant knew what he was doing. He explained to us that we had a 30 year old refrigerator/freezer and we were having problems that occur with a unit that old. Dr. Grant gave us a detailed explanation of what could be done to fix the unit although that would likely be a temporary fix and why. We had a discussion regarding the pros and cons of a repair that may not last versus the option of purchasing a new unit. Dr. Grant gave us all the information we needed to make an informed decision and clearly had our best interests in mind. For the call he only charged us $109. They provided excellent service from start to finish and we would not hesitate to call them again. I give them a high recommendation."

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Kalama, WA

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
