"Mike and team are amazing to work with. I have used them for exterior paint twice, both great experiences. Having worked with numerous contractors over the years, a company that does impeccable work with great service is an outlier. Absolute is definitely that and would recommend them without hesitation."

"What M Brothers recommended for my project vs. my other estimates was actually the best solution in the end. I feel they had my house and concerns at the forefront and the results show it. It looks just like any other new house now! Watching during construction (with prior experience) and seeing completed results, I’m confident I’ll get many leak-free years. Pete & Jesse"

"It went WONDERFULLY! Dan came out and gave me a bid. He told me I didn't actually "need" to replace the front gutter. I really appreciated his honesty and integrity in not trying to sell me anything I didn't truly need! That's a quality I really look for but don't always find. Also his communication was flawless. I always knew exactly what was going to be done and when. Great about keeping me well informed every step of the way. Thanks, Dan! Shane and his crew came out for the install shortly thereafter and they were fast, efficient and friendly! Shane advised me one of the underground cement gutter lines was clogged and referred me to Grumpy's Drain Cleaning who was every bit as good as this company. When they say good people know good people, it really is true. Shane is very easy to work with and we were completely satisfied with the superb outcome. Thanks Shane! I highly recommend this company. There is literally nothing I didn't like about them and that's really saying something."

"Eds Economy Roofing re-roofed our home several years ago. We are not trained as roofers so we depended on Eds Economy Roofing to re-roof our home properly, according to industry standards. That was our mistake. They were nice and finished the job quickly as you may read in other reviews. However, they did not vent the roof to allow condensation to exit as specified by the building code. They also did not install edge flashing which keeps water from creeping up under the roofing material. As a result of not being vented, and of not having edge flashing, the roof failed. Not only did the shingles fail, but the sheeting rotted, the insulation was ruined, and the rafters were rotten. We hired a general contractor to repair the damage and re-roof the house at a cost of over $80,000. This review could go on for pages, but I won’t bore you with all of the details. After going through the expense and stress of having our roof rebuilt, I cannot recommend that you use Eds Roofing for your roofing needs."

"Never hire Square One. Initially our only problem was that they got into an argument with the inspector regarding electrical code related to grounding the entire system. Once that was resolved and inspector had signed off, we figured that the minor remaining issues could be fixed by my husband (an electrical engineer). Minor being a couple incorrectly wired light switches. However we found a major issue today in the process of moving a kitchen cabinet. Rather than properly rewire the kitchen outlets, we discovered that they had simply run the wire through the back of the cabinets. That means that none of it was done to code because all wire is required to go through studs. Code is there to prevent accidental cutting of wires which is exactly what happened while we were removing the cabinet. We strongly recommend that no one ever hire Square One."

"Ovi did a great job communicating all the steps to have this job done. I had the idea that it was going to be really messy but, they were very careful and clean. Th end result was beautiful. I appreciated their time and work."

"I had a very good experience with this company, from the quote derivation process all the way to mold remediation project completion (which included reconstruction of the impacted area - in this case the utility closet and flooring/subflooring adjacent to that room). The team was hardworking, effective, and committed to the terms of the contract to get the job done!"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Kalama, WA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
