Small jobs welcome

"Kent did a great job with our basement remodel.. He was quick with his very reasonable quote and did an excellent job. He came up with a solution for our bathroom/closet addition that we hadnâ t thought about before. The project took longer than either of us expected, but it was worth the wait. Most of that was due to it being an old basement addition and things just being more difficult to work around than anticipated. I would most definitely hire him again."

"Fonda and Steve run a fantastic company, excellent communication and quality of craftsmanship. We used them 1st to build decking over our back patio and a privacy wall, to enclose our hot tub. A few months later we had them remodel our kitchen which included adding new cabinets, painting existing cabinets, countertops, backsplash, lighting and plumbing. They were always prompt, dependable, cleaned up after each day’s work and extremely easy to communicate with. My husband and I very satisfied with their work and will most definitely hire them again!"

"We hired Omni for a kitchen and bath remodel for an older 70s home. New cabinets, flooring and a wall demo turned a cramped, dated kitchen into a breath of fresh air. The work performed in our secondary bathroom also came out looking stellar. Very pleased with the results. There was a slight delay for the project due to certain material supply problems, but Omni was diligent in keeping us updated; good communication throughout. Would hire again."

"Marc did a very fine job on tile work for the floor, shower and walls. Complete master bath remodel. ..He has also done other work for me that was way above the quality of other contractors that I had used in the past. I will only use Marc for all my needs around the house."

"Doug is excellent to work with. He brought my vision for the fireplace/living room remodel to life through his expert carpentry and design consultation. Great communication throughout the life of the project and he kept an excellent eye on the budget, even suggesting some changes with materials and other items that would save money without impacting the look and quality."

"Excellent, travis and his brother spent a great deal of time dealing with our special situation and my wifes needs. The installation went smoothly and all my questions related to install and operation were answered. This new type of equipment required some education. Travis corrected a couple of noise related problems that I doubt any other installer would have taken the time to correct or would have avoided fixing them. They are very knowledgeable and will work to get it correct for your needs. The B rating for cost was only because they were slightly higher than another bid, but in the end worth the extra."

"This is the third time that we have use Jack with Prowork. I have never had a problem with any type of communication with him. Jack always checks up on how the work is going, especially if he is not performing it himself. Jack has always been really good at providing a closely matching estimate to the final price. He is very good at giving you options as the work progresses, based on what they find. I don't care how busy Jack is I will wait for him to take care of work around my house, he is a fair and honest individual."

FAQs for remodel to accommodate a disability projects in Kansas City, KS

Standard Medicare coverage often doesn't extend to home modifications, such as roll-in showers. In specific circumstances where medical necessity is clearly established, limited coverage might be available through certain Medicare programs. Many homeowners explore alternative funding sources such as home modification grants, veterans' benefits, or specialized financing programs designed for accessibility improvements. Consulting with a Medicare representative about your specific situation provides the most accurate guidance.

Roll-in showers deliver significant benefits beyond their monetary return, particularly in terms of safety, independence, and long-term accessibility. By eliminating barriers to bathing, these installations help prevent falls while accommodating mobility devices, such as wheelchairs or walkers. Their open design creates a contemporary appearance that appeals to many homebuyers. For households planning to age in place or accommodate family members with mobility challenges, the functional advantages often outweigh pure financial considerations.

A standard roll-in shower installation takes two to four days. Projects requiring extensive renovation or plumbing changes may take longer, potentially extending to several weeks or months. Factors affecting the timeline include existing bathroom configuration, permit processing times, contractor availability, and material delivery schedules. Creating proper drainage slopes often requires additional preparation time compared to traditional shower installations, particularly when modifying existing floor structures.
