"This experience from start to finish of our remodel of our master shower changing from a standard shower to a handicap setup with classy completion has been great. Josh Howard and Nathan Smith were great to work with getting the project setup and designed. They are very caring young men and the installer was very professional, pleasant, quick and cleaned up fantastically afterwards. I have enjoyed having a new and improved shower that is much safer now."

"A 1 did a great job. We are already making a list of projects with them for continuing work. The crew was really friendly and very respectful of the house and our stuff. They did one of the best post-work cleanups I've had too. They had us mark with tape places where we had questions about the work. They wanted to make sure we were completely happy with the outcome. In our case, they even decided to repaint an area because they weren't happy with it. We are really pleased with the final look and their input for decisions turned out to be great guidance."

"Thanks to Midwest Marble & Granite for my beautiful countertops. Thanks to Edan, company consultant. I couldn't have gotten my dream of a home upgrade without Edan's guidance.. I didn't even know how to talk about countertops. Her patience and helpfulness made my purchase easy and comfortable. And, wow, these granite countertops are exceedingly beautiful. The granite surface is perfectly consistent. I chose the polished surface treatment, it is smooth and shines like glass. The fit is exact, the edge treatment is even and smooth. My new sink is perfect. Until Edan told me, I did not know I could have any configuration I needed. The workers who came to my home, first to measure, then to install, were very professional yet friendly. They were on time, worked quickly and did an excellent job. Midwest Marble & Granite is an honest company. They are responsive and ready to work. No one tried to upsell me or sell me credit contracts. Costs were clearly stated. No razzle dazzle salesman wanted to take over. No one talked down to me. What a relief in this time of hype and pressure sales. Thanks and thanks again to Edan and Midwest Marble & Granite."

"I have my home listed and was out of town when we got word someone wanted to see it. Dan was so great and made sure he could get to the house on a day's notice. I have used his company for many years and was so appreciative that he could make this happen for me. They always do the best job and I can count on him to go above and beyond! I should also mention that I have 3 dogs who are naughty sometimes and Dan works his magic on their "accidents." It is so nice to be able to depend on Victory even from 1300 miles away!

FAQs for stone slab countertops installation (granite, marble, quartz, etc) projects in Kansas City, KS

With proper care, granite countertops can last 100 years or more—even in busy kitchens. The stone itself is extremely hard, but its longevity hinges on routine maintenance. Wipe up spills right away to avoid stains and reseal the surface once a year to keep moisture out. Those simple steps protect the finish and let the countertop stay both functional and attractive for decades.

Most granite countertop installations wrap up in a single day. A small vanity might take just a couple of hours, while a sprawling kitchen with multiple cut-outs or seams could stretch to eight hours. Timing depends on the layout’s size and complexity, plus any prep work like cabinet reinforcement or sink cut-outs. Experienced installers plan each step to keep your kitchen downtime to a minimum.

Granite isn’t your only stone choice. Marble delivers a classic, high-end look, while quartz blends natural stone with resins for extra strength and easy upkeep. Quartzite offers marble-like veining with granite-level durability, and soapstone brings a softer, matte finish that develops character over time. Consider how each material lines up with your style, maintenance goals, and budget before you decide.

Granite countertops can boost resale appeal and may recoup up to 25% of their installation cost when you sell. Buyers value their timeless style, durability, and low upkeep, so updated granite surfaces often stand out in listing photos and showings. Beyond potential return on investment (ROI), they refresh the kitchen’s look and signal that the space has been well cared for.

Quartz and granite are both tough, but they excel in different ways. Engineered quartz is non-porous, so it shrugs off spills and resists scratches from daily use, yet direct heat can damage its resins. Granite handles hot pans better but needs yearly sealing because it’s naturally porous. Choose quartz if you want nearly maintenance-free durability, or pick granite for a heat-friendly surface that rewards a little routine care.
