"Very punctual, installers were great.  Can't see any seams!  The carpet is beautiful!  Criticisms: 1.  The salesperson never followed up with my quote and I had to call to find out the status; 2.  They measured incorrectly when they came to do the estimate so the installers didn't have enough carpet to do the job when they originally came.  They had to order more carpet and then come out a second time to finish the job.  3. They forgot to call me to tell me the additional carpet was in and to schedule the install. <br />"

"Having just returned from a trip to the Boca area of Florida, I feel compelled to share my experience with my visit to Floors To Go, at 5060 N Federal Highway, in Lighthouse Point. As an interior designer, I often stop in to explore possible vendors that I may discover during my travels. That said, it’s rare that I then take the time to stop to write a review. This was different. I was like a kid in a candy store from the moment I entered. Their impressive selection of tile, carpet, hardwood, laminate, marble, vinyl, even molding, etc., etc., was amazing. There were so many uniquely-beautiful choices that I haven’t seen anywhere else. There were fabulous options for every budget. The showroom itself was neat, clean, very organized, and quite spacious; making navigating a pleasure. The owner, Kenny, and his staff introduced themselves. Although they knew I was only browsing that day, they were happy to spend time with me, and answered any questions I had. I highly recommend them, and will most definitely be using them for future jobs."

"I called Jack Plunkett, owner of the Carpet Doctor, after our AC unit leaked into our dining room. So glad we found him on Angie's List.! Jack was very responsive and came out to our home in Plantation the next day after our call to give us an estimate (no obligation!) for new padding, relaying our carpet and giving it a good cleaning. Jack arrived on time, and his estimate was very reasonable for all the work we needed done. By the end of that afternoon, the work was completed. It looks wonderful -- like the flood never happened -- and Jack was a great person to work with. I'm looking forward to hiring Jack at the Carpet Doctor to come out annually and clean our carpets and he will be the first one we call if we have another flood. I highly recommend the Carpet Doctor in Ft Lauderdale."

"Excellent.  The owner of this branch of the chain, Michael Henry, visited us to prepare estimates and to check on the progress of the work. The installation crew was personable and capable and the work was done promptly and well. I highly recommend this vendor. <br />"

"They don't have Costco's quality control, you don't feel like the merchandise in there has been checked by anybody for quality. You feel like you are going into a store, and what ever they got a discount on they're handling. So if it's appliances or home improvement things, you know you're always a little leery of what you are getting. That no one's really looked at the tile and see if it chips easily or doesn't."

"This is the third time that I have gone to Not Just Carpets for my flooring needs. Joel and Rick are professional and friendly. They consistently listen to my needs and concerns and find the perfect product for my home. The showroom is large and well stocked with quality flooring at a competitive price. The installation went flawlessly and was completed within 24 hours of my carpet selection. The installer,Dwayne, did his work diligently. I could not have asked for better service, I highly recommend this company."

"Working with Manny and his crew has been great. I was hesitant at first using a company named carpet boutique to fix and refinish stairs. I was however very pleasantly surprised. From the moment Manny came over to give me the original estimate, to the moment the last crew member left my home they were nothing but professional. They arrived on time every day, and worked VERY CLEAN. I thought there was going to be dust everywhere, but the guys were very good about making sure to tape off the work area and clean up after themselves. Overall they did a great job and would recommend them to anyone. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Kendall, FL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
