The work, at that time, was being done primarily by handymen and amateurs. There needed to be a professional who could analyze the condition of grout and tile and then determine which service, repair and products were needed to professionally restore them to their original condition. Thus, the Groutsmith was born. As the owner of The Groutsmith Brandywine, my job is both interesting and rewarding, in that my customers are happy when we arrive and even happier when we leave! We do painting framing and drywall minor plumbing and minor electrical work. We take our our time to make sure the customer is happy and satisfied with all our work and any problems after we are gone one call we will be back same week to make sure everything is perfect.

But, they had to come back a 2nd time to fill in the hole. See pictures. Yes, I was taken advantage of. I paid way too much. The final bill matched the estimate but in retrospect it was too much. Customer service simply stopped once I started challenging the work that was done. I have a large pipe sticking out of my condo that is unsightly. After I asked to have it corrected I was ignored. I would not recommend this company."

Weigh your style goals against the extra effort (and budget) each option requires before you decide.
You can leave tiles ungrouted for a short window, but only if the surface stays clean and undisturbed. Once the thin-set cures, finish the job as soon as possible. Grout seals joints against moisture and locks the layout in place; waiting too long invites dirt, water, and movement that can shorten the life of your new surface.
Use at least two millimeter spacers on walls and three millimeter spacers on floors to give grout room to bond and absorb normal expansion. Larger, rustic tiles may call for wider joints, while precision-cut porcelain often looks best with tighter gaps. Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines and local code, and you’ll end up with an even, long-lasting layout.
