He called me while I was traveling to tell me that he had discovered a problem in the foundation from the previous builder. He tore everything apart and redid the job after I got back without any discussion of getting paid more than his original estimate. After completing the work, he asked if I would consider paying something extra to cover his additional cost. I volunteered an amount which I thought was fair, and he accepted it with a smile and a handshake. I would have given him five stars before the problem. When asked why his quote was lower than others, owner reply the larger companies use blocks from quarry. Ok with blocks from Lowes, 2 days completion, but still expected quality work. Subcontractors excellent job on demo and work on front wall. 3rd day, owner solely completed side wall to driveway. Contractors should have finished the job. I was not ok with the side wall design being lower than the lawn. Owner Stephen Q. was verbal aggressive when I asked him to fix it. Neighbors came out. He threaten to remove the wall. Owner explain- property on slope, pay him. Cashiers checks written to owner and not in company's name ($1,900 and $2,200) per owner's request. To fix the misaligned side wall cost est. $2,200 per another contractor. Waiting for est. to fix lawn. Photos taken at a distance are deceiving. Must review up close. Photos attached. Older woman just trying to update my home."
