"Tim and his partner did an excellent job on replacing the rotten sills on our screen in porch. The came in and Jacked and supported with temporary walls. Took out all rotted wood and replaced with new. For a good price! They are the best!"

"The three men did a fantastic job.  I have got nothing but compliments. Even a roofer I had over doing a roof repair on another part of the house said they did a professional job on the covered roof portion of the porch and tied it into existing roof very nice.  They used 6x6 for posts and 2x6 for decking all treated lumber.  Would not hesitate to use them for my back porch in future and other jobs that come up. <br />"

"Lew is a very honest older gentleman.   The communication and quoting was a little haphazard.  Lew is very old school, he keeps his appointment and number is a little note book so email is out and getting a hold of him may take a few tries.  His pricing is very good, and you can count on him to do what he says he will.  I would skip the two hour special thing,  Just have him come out and quote you for what ever work you need done.  If you get the special he will just deduct it from the quote he is doing and it confuses him a little.    Lew skill set is basic home repair pretty much he will do almost anything you request that is in his skill set. <br /> <br />"

"If we had asked for a detailed contract up front, plus paid only 50% down instead of pull payment I think this job would have been much smoother. I wouldn't avoid using American Fence again, as long as those two caveats are met. Don was one of several fence companies who gave us a quote. He is courteous and knowledgeable and we felt good about selecting American Fence for our job. We were a bit surprised that he asked for full payment up front, but he said that was to secure the sale price and we went ahead and wrote the check. Don had offered to clear the property which has heavy underbrush and we appreciated that added service. Don immediately had the utilities marked and ordered supplies. He spent two days getting the posts set all by himself. During the time, he hit our satellite tv line and told us his friend could repair it for $75 (our cost). Instead, we had Direct TV repair it for ($50). At this time, we began to get perturbed that he didn't offer us better customer service and offer to pay for what he damaged. The third day he began setting the rails and luckily I was at home. When he showed me the first 16 feet, they were straight and not crossed. I felt badly, but Don had to redo that section and then cut the remaining boards to create the proper fence. We could have avoided this with a proper contract. After this Don disappeared for a few days and then a crew of guys showed up and went full steam on the fence, leaving a few odd shaped areas to finish. Don had another job scheduled and began showing up unannounced at our house to do a little bit here and there. By week number three I was highly concerned so I called and asked when he inteded to finish and he said he would be there the next day. He didn't show up. The following day he did without our knowledge, but our babysitter was home and saw him working. The only remaining piece as to seal the fence. Another week went by and then Don mysteriously appeared and sprayed the fence. The only way I knew was that I called and he said he had done the work the previous day. We started out on what we thought was good footing, but were a bit disenchanted that Don chose to do the work at his convenience and arrive at our home unannounced. I think this could have been avoided with a different payment arrangement. I think the issues of the sat tv cable and the style of fencing would have been avoided with a detailed contract. I believe Don knows what he is doing and is very skilled. We just would have liked to have experienced a bit better customer service."
