"The concrete pad is good, well built, well poured, and seems sturdy enough for my purposes. Any issues I had, Axel addressed. He always seemed in a bit of rush though, and I would have liked him to explain things a little more thoroughly, or ask clarifying questions. If I didn't ask a question he wouldn't bring it up, and would do something that would sometimes need correcting. NO large scale project is without its hiccups and not all of them were anything either of us could control. In the end, I got what I needed, in the dimensions I wanted, and to the quality I expected."

"This was a very involved plaster repair and remediation job, in a very old house. Grady is the only person (or company) who was willing to take on the job and drive all the way from Pennsylvania to our home in Northern Virginia. There are very few people who do this kind of work anymore (we really searched) and he is an expert in his field. We needed to work around his schedule, because he is in demand in the tri-state area, so it took awhile to schedule the work to begin... but it was worth it."

"Exceeded expectations at every step! Good cost, great approach and easy to work with. Could not be happier with the job and the results. I had quotes from several outfits before selecting Bedrock, and it's pretty obvious why they are highly rated. Job actually finished ahead of schedule - everyone was great to work with."

"I had the chimney swept as part of an Angie's List big deal so it should have been for a set price.  The technician indicated that additional work was required, of which I authorized part of what he recommended for significant extra cost.  I have since had another chimney sweep (and prior to A1 had a different guy out) and neither indicated that there were any problems.  I felt forced into paying for additional work that I'm not sure was needed."

"Very nice man and went far above to keep communicating. Even drove from Richmond in heavy rain to give estimate. Good price but very poor quality. We even called reference he gave us. Should have requested pictures. We may have to tear out all his work and start over. Extremely disappointed in results. Said he would return for acid wash but after reading about possible problem with acid killing vegetation we were afraid for him to return. Bricks are much older looking now after he scraped them to clean them . Mortar does not match rest of house. Ugly dark brown color and extra wide mortar stripes between bricks. Porch steps looked much better before he came. VERY displeased"

FAQs for brick or stone tuck pointing projects in King William, VA

Masons charge between $70 and $110 per hour. A mason may have a minimum service fee ranging from $80 to $300. Most bricklayers offer free estimates and charge only if you proceed with the project. This clear pricing model assures that professionals inspect your property before beginning work and charge based on your project’s actual requirements.

A professional repointing lasts 20 to 30 years without maintenance and extends up to 50 years when maintained diligently. This process protects your brickwork using high-quality materials that ensure lasting performance and durability. Consistent upkeep preserves its strength and appearance, providing enduring protection and enhancing your home’s overall structural integrity for decades.

You know your house needs repointing when you notice clear signs such as cracked, flaking, or missing mortar and visible discoloration on the brick surfaces. Additional indicators include loose bricks, water damage, and gaps between the brick joints that compromise the overall integrity of the structure. Addressing these issues promptly protects your investment and sustains the durability and curb appeal of your home.

A house needs repointing to preserve both its structural integrity and visual appeal. Mortar acts as a vital bonding agent that holds the bricks securely together. When the mortar deteriorates, it exposes the structure to water infiltration and further decay, increasing the risk of costly repairs. Repointing stops decay and reinforces the exterior, ensuring long-term protection.
