"This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. So I ended up with a $21 refund on a $60 order, and a lesson learned about where not to buy appliance parts."

"I ordered a Sunsetter awning from Smart Repair. They ordered the wrong size and installed it on my house. I have been trying to get the awning replaced for 2 months. I am getting the run around and now no one will return my calls. Then I found out that this “deal” was almost twice the going rate for a similar product!! DON’T USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU HAVE PATIENCE AND MONEY TO BURN!! Edit: This is part 2 of my previous review of Smart Repairs. All of my paperwork says I ordered an awning from Sunsetters. After trying to resolve my original issue with the awning being too short, I find out that my awning isn't a Sunsetter awning at all but from a different company that I never heard of or was told of!!! FRAUD!! I am still playing phone tag with the owner- he is always out of the office and won't return my calls. I was told from another worker that the offer to refund my money was rescinded since I wrote negative reviews about the company. So now they are strong arming me and doing consumer fraud!!! AVOID THIS COMPANY!!"

"I had an all-around EXCELLENT experience --> From the call-in to describe the issue and schedule, to the trip out to diagnose the problem, to the final part replacement and repair (Jake Farr), to the final charge (on 7/31/25). Family-run local business, thus you're not going to encounter any of those big corporate shenanigans and/or overcharges. "Justin and Elephas (not sure of the spelling—sorry!) came out to replace my panel and meter base. I’d recently bought a home that was built in 1976, and a lot of the features are original, including, unfortunately, the panel box outside, which had literally been tied back on by the previous owner when it came loose. Elephas did the initial estimate and was very kind and knowledgeable, showing me everything that was going on with the old panel, his recommendations for replacing the panel and breakers and the meter base together. I received a detailed estimate very quickly and when I called with questions about it, I was put in touch with Justin, their lead technician. He was knowledgeable and thorough and they got me on the schedule ASAP. Both Justin and Elephas came out to do the work. There was a bit of a mix up with the electric company getting out here to de-energize, and they did as much as they could to prep and set up while waiting, then they were efficient and thorough while working, and took the time to walk me through everything once they were done. They stated on-site until the power company came back and restored us, so they’d be sure we were all set. I feel very confident that the work was high quality and both men were friendly, polite, knowledgeable, and patient. Good communication throughout the process, and anytime I had to call, I usually spoke with Skylar, who was also terrific — patient, kind, followed up when I needed it. I would definitely recommend Walker Electric if you’re needing electric work done."
