"I have not been able to get up on ladders to clean my gutters in years because of health issues. I finally decided to have it done professionally, and to have gutter caps/screens installed to prevent leaves, etc. from getting into the gutters in the first place. After getting a few estimates, i decided to hire Apollo Seamless Gutters because a) we went over what was needed step-by-step; b) his estimate was reasonable; and c) he was more local than the other businesses. He was ready to come almost immediately, but I decided to wait for a day when the weather wasn't too hot and there was little chance of rain. Yoself arrived early. We reviewed what we had agreed on at the estimate, and he went right to work. He was finished in less than five hours. He gave me a guided tour of what he had done, and showed me pictures of work I was not able to inspect personally. He not only cleaned the gutters and installed screens (that go up under the shingles to give a good angle for flushing leaves away), he also repaired the portions where the gutters were pulling away from the fascia, replaced the downspouts, and added extensions to guide water away from the building. Through all of this, Yoself was very personable as well as professional. His estimate was extremely reasonable, and he stuck to it."

"The man who came out was very nice. He dealt with the immediate problem (holes in the house) and did a thorough search of the interior and exterior of the home. I have a preference for more organic substances to be used over more harsh chemicals and they were able accomodate that preference. They are scheduled to come back out later this month as part of the ongoing services I purchased.

FAQs for gutters & downspouts cleaning service projects in Kingston, NY

You’ll want to clean gutters once or twice a year—in early spring and again in fall—to keep water flowing and avoid pricey leaks. Homes tucked beneath tall trees or hit with heavy debris may need two to four visits instead. Staying on schedule protects your roof, siding, and foundation from costly water damage.

Even with gutter guards, plan on an occasional cleaning—just not as often as homes without guards. Installing gutter guards blocks leaves, but grit and shingle granules still slip through and pile up over time. A quick sweep keeps water moving and stops overflow that can damage your roof or foundation.

Watch for overflowing water, slow or silent downspouts, sagging sections, or debris peeking over the gutter edge. You might also spot water stains, weeds, or an increasing number of ants in certain areas. Any of these red flags means it’s time to call a gutter cleaning pro for service before minor clogs turn into major leaks.

Skip cleanings for too long and gutters overflow, sending water under shingles, down siding, and toward the foundation. The result can be mold, rotted fascia, basement leaks, and repair bills that dwarf the price of a quick cleaning. It can also mean that future cleanings will be more expensive as it will take pros longer to deep clean gutters that are full of heavy debris. Staying on schedule saves money and headaches.

Plan on gutter cleaning service to take an average of one hour for an average single-story home and two to three hours for taller houses. Add extra time if gutter guards need to come off or clogs are packed in. Pros work methodically, clearing every linear foot so water can flow freely again.
