"The old stone foundation was looking pretty shabby. In less than a week, Mr. Dempski installed a wire mesh over the existing exterior and parged over it with concrete, then for the areas where the foundation was visible, applied a and quot;top coatand quot; of custom-colored concrete to finish the job. He also applied rubber waterproofing down to the footer in a section of the foundation where I have noticed a small water leak coming into the basement during very heavy rains. I lost that 'old stone' look and now the foundation looks (and is) smooth and strong. Mr. Dempski is very friendly, customer-focused, and works very cleanly, he left no trace that he was there other than the finished product, which looks great! I will definitely be contacting him for any future masonry work. <br />"

"Mike was a great contractor. When the adjuster gave the amount the water co. would pay for damages. Mike stepped in and had them readjust the amount since they were only giving me have the amount it would cost to fix my basement. Mike went above and beyond to help in a very stressful situation. I would certainly recommend him to friends and family for their next contractor. I will call on him again."

"-Everything went as planned <br /> -Total time was bout (2) days <br /> -Entire area was left clean and neat <br /> Tom built a portion of the retaining wall about two years ago. We recently installed a deck and wanted to finish the retaining wall. He did great work the first time and did again this time. It all blends together perfectly. What an amazing job. <br /> Note: We had heavy rain last year as everyone in this area did. The original retaining wall stayed put! <br /> I would recommend Tom to anyone that wants to build a retaining wall."

"It went great. First, the sales person was very helpful explaining the mold testing and remediation process. He went through the steps that would be taken and then he followed up with the results. On the french drain,/sump pump change out/ wall rebuild, it was quick and painless. Again my sales person was very clear in the process and the steps. When he came for a walk through there were some options in what would occur in the installation and he made fully aware of any potential changes in cost (there were none though). The workers came on time (ok a bit early) and finished early as well. Finally, they were helpful and clear walking through all the changes that occurred and the guarantees given."

"We had a total of 6 windows replaced by Lifetime Windows. We ordered the windows back in the spring, but due to Covid related delays they were not available until just now. The process was seamless and easy from the customer side. Their guys were here for a total of a day and half and the end result is fantastic. We are incredibly happy with the look of the new windows and also with the service that we received."

"Bob and the crew were wonderful from initial meeting to finish! I cannot say enough good things about the whole team! Bob would return calls same day and answered any questions, quoted a great price, started the project 2 weeks earlier than anticipated, always cleaned up after every day - never left a mess, whole crew was friendly and personable, flexible payment options, and great quality of work! We couldn't be happier! I definitely recommend this company and will hire them again for future projects! A+++++++++!"

"I called the number after seeing his review on Angie's List.  I got a recording.  They called later, but I was out.  They called again in the morning & explained what I needed.  Lou showed up at 4 pm - he had just finished another job and was on his way home.  We spent 15-20 minutes walking around the property while I explained what I wanted.  He repeated everything back and asked questions, and made suggestions.  In the end, we were both clear on what I wanted.  I went back inside while he took about ten minutes to determine his estimate.  Estimate: $460. He said it would take about a day (7-8 hours) depending on the weather.  [You must understand, this was just after Lee & Marie had just flooded about everything in NE Pa.  Also, it continued to rain every day.  This is now the wettest September on record.) He began immediately, since it was only about 4:30 pm.  He came two other times for part of the day and we were completely rained out on another day.  So, all told, it took four days working between cloud bursts. It looks beautiful.  My yard went from looking like Africa USA to neat and trim!  Final Cost: $460. I was so happy with the work that I discussed another project I have in mind, but didn't know how to proceed.  Lou suggested pavers, which I never thought of, and I knew immediately that was the answer I had been looking for.  I told him right on the spot that I what him to put me on his "To Do" list.  Due to the weather, etc., I told him I didn't care whether it was two weeks from now or next Spring.  I highly recommed this man."

"15 years ago, I had another basement waterproofing company, with a local office, work on another area of our residence. When I attempted to contact them to work on this area or tie it into the current setup, I found out that are no longer in business due to Covid 19 issues. The other branch offices would not accept the job since they operate independently and said it would be best to replace the whole system. Kiss that lifetime warranty goodbye. Did not want to replace the whole system. We contacted Basement Waterproofing Specialists thru Angie's list. Thier representative, Dean S., came out the next day, listened to us and not pressure us for a decision. The crew a couple days later, arrived on time (8AM), Worksite preparation & the job began immediately thereafter. The crew of 4 worked like a well oiled machine. They knew what and when actions needed to be completed and they did it efficiently. They cleaned up after they were finished & showed/tested us how the pump should work when the reservoir fills up. By 2:30 PM they were done."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Kingston, PA

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
