"A huge Thank You to Giant Carpet & Flooring... These guys from the start to finish have been a pleasure to work with... Ali's estimate was very fairly priced and he was very helpful and patient with us from the start. He showed tremendous interest in wanting us to be 100% satisfied. James the installer was extremely professional, polite, and did a perfect job. I will definitely be using them again as well as referring them to family and friends..."

"Working with Floors Direct we were able to complete 3 flooring projects. Both an upstairs and downstairs at one house. As well as an upstairs at another house. Each installation had its own challenges. In one we just removed the carpet and installed vinyl plank flooring. The other had a mix of very old laminate and tile that had to be removed before the new vinyl plank flooring was installed. And the 3rd install was over the current tile floor. In two cases we even had new carpeting installed. In our case Ruben and Tom where the two installers on all 3 jobs and did AWESOME. They helped to answer all of our questions, took the time to work with us for some special need we had..and even did not mind that our foreman ( i.e. our cats ) were there to "help" inspect. The were very hard workers that showed up on time and worked a full day each day. The removed all the old material as well as moved any items before/after. Not only was the installers amazing Tony from the Plantation/Sunrise store. He helped us to pick out the right product in each use case we had. Worked with us to get a good deal and even dealt with a few last minute changes of product from one to another. Clay also did a great job doing the measurements and coming up with a plan that would work. GREAT JOB by these folks as this makes 4 floors we have them do in the last year!!!"

"I called Jack Plunkett, owner of the Carpet Doctor, after our AC unit leaked into our dining room. So glad we found him on Angie's List.! Jack was very responsive and came out to our home in Plantation the next day after our call to give us an estimate (no obligation!) for new padding, relaying our carpet and giving it a good cleaning. Jack arrived on time, and his estimate was very reasonable for all the work we needed done. By the end of that afternoon, the work was completed. It looks wonderful -- like the flood never happened -- and Jack was a great person to work with. I'm looking forward to hiring Jack at the Carpet Doctor to come out annually and clean our carpets and he will be the first one we call if we have another flood. I highly recommend the Carpet Doctor in Ft Lauderdale."

"Capitol has been used several times and owner is available and happy to assist. We provided a deal from another installer and Capitol offered an equally appealing offer. Because of our past experience with Capitol and their great installation teams, we decided to pay slightly more and glad we did. A flawless experience and job well done. Mohawk SilkStrand and Capitol Carpet in Boca was a win-win !"

"Arleen Rose Carpet and Tile Company gave me a quote which I thought was high. The think the quote I got was around $6000 or $7000, I don’t remember. The person who was sent out for the estimate was very nice and professional. She was good about getting back in touch with me. However I couldn’t understand why their quote was so much higher, so I couldn’t use them. Their quote itself was given to me hand written and I thought that it was a little sloppy. Other than that everything was fine. I’m not sure if I will contact them for quotes in future only because their prices are too high."

"There are a few tile places in Boynton to choose from but there is no comparison as far as quality, service and professionalism at Capitol Carpet and Tile! We started shopping for quality vinyl planking and started off at a big box store that everyone knows about. Their quality was not what we expected and they had very little choices for commercial grade vinyl. In addition, their lack of customer service was a joke. For such a large store, we couldn't locate one person to assist us so we left. This is where Capitol comes in. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Gabriel. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about all the lines of vinyl that he sells. We are very picky so we spent a couple of weeks deciding, taking home many samples. By the way, these aren't tiny little pieces they lend you, but big boards with all of the product information and pictures on the back. After a while, we went back to purchase what we chose but we weren't really excited about the pattern. Gabriel took the time and told us "don't buy anything that you really don't want". Now, in steps the manager Nick. He also assisted us and gave us other options to look at. Suffice to say, we bought vinyl that day for our entire house. Not only did he tell us when it will be delivered, he called us the day of delivery and gave us the expected time frame and every detail. The service here is impeccable and the quality of the vinyl is amazing. And no, they are not "expensive" as you get what you pay for. Nice job Gabriel and Nick, you won us over with your service and knowledge..Stu & Deanna Levy!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Lake Worth, FL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
