"The estimator was great, he listened to my concerns and offered options that suited my needs. The workers were respectful and got to work right away. I had insulation installed under my floor in the crawl space, a ground cover installed, ducts sealed, and the garage ducts wrapped. I was very happy with the insulation results, I no longer feel a difference in air temperature between rooms. I was not thrilled with the ground cover nor the garage ducts wrap, these jobs seemed rushed. The ground cover had multiple holes and was not put down with a function or pleasing aesthetic in mind. The garage ducts wrap is definitely helping with the loss of heat, but it looks clumsy with white tape all over the place. Overall I'm satisfied. I just think parts of the job were rushed."

"I hired , after in-depth researching , this company to do close sell, blown in insulation to include fiberglass bats for a detached garage and a single-story home of which I had the substantial Crawlspace also insulated. You need not look any further. This was the most excellent service and install for a fair price as well. Their equipment is top notch, clean, and new and when they showed up to the site with the first team, which was the insulation team with a very expensive Foam pump they went right to work did an incredible job cleaned up behind themselves were very organized, and then the second team came in with the fiberglass bats and the same experience. The follow-through by the manager Andre was better than you can even imagine. He checked all of the work was there on the site for most of it and made sure that anything but I needed it was done at 100%. Iâ ve hired a lot of subcontractors in the most important part is making sure you get someone who is trustworthy, honest and hard-working and Andre and Isaiah and their cruise at PNW insulation. Are these people! They came out to Lopez Island in the San Juan Islands, even though they are based in Pacific Washington, but if you look at their website, they do work all over the state. They showed up on time worked super hard and every single one of their workers were friendly and super hard-working. These two brothers have built their business on trust, hard work and excellence and Iâ m sure thereâ s other companies out there that do a good job as well but these guys are at 100% in my eyes. They did a variety of closed Cell flashing back where you spray 4 inches of closed, sell insulation and then use fiberglass bats on the rest for the Cathedral ceiling they also used a different form to sell in any leaks and weâ re incredibly extensive in their work underneath the house. We have a 12 foot crawlspace that goes down to about 3 feet. That was all close. Cell insulated on the cold concrete walls along with a six mil vapor barrier and fiberglass batts on the floor joists. The entire garage was insulated in the walls and the ceiling and they went above and beyond to make sure any pecks pipes were super well insulated on the outside walls. The prep work was super impressive as they used plastic over all the windows and anything in the new construction that wouldâ ve gotten overspray. They cleaned up 100% and left a beautiful professional space. When theyâ re finished, they donâ t just disappear. You will hear from Andre to check up and make sure everything was done to perfection. Iâ m not kidding and I know construction. This is a great company to doing your work. I noticed through my research that the reviews were very good as well and I was impressed that their price was also very good and competitive. Yet they work the best of the best. Which is why Iâ m taking the time to send a review as I know how important these are. Jeff"

"The entire process from estimating (Kenny) to project management (Walter) to team members (four), was efficient, respectful of our property and extremely communicative. The team went multiple extra steps to make sure our crawl space free of entry points for critters while installing all new insulation"

"The lake atitlan, insulation team just finished replacing our old blown in insulation in our attics with white R-38 rolled batt insulation. Overall, we were very happy with their work and attention to detail. Everything was spotless when they left. They were also a few thousand dollars less expensive than a bid we got from a larger local chain. The old insulation was blocking the soffit vents (under the gutters) allowing moisture and black mold to develop on the underside of the roof sheeting. First, they built a plastic tunnel from the front door up to the upper attic access door in the top of a closet near the bedrooms. This prevented any debris from the job filtering into the house as well as protecting the carpet. Next, they removed all the old insulation with the assistance of a giant vacuum. The black mold on the underside of our roof sheeting was treated and the new insulation installed. It now looks like a field of freshly fallen snow up there and no blocked vents."

"We literally been roasted in our house especially on the second floor with that late heatwave going on . Eric from Insulation Pro took care of our attic. Full insulation replacement. Some mold problems and vents to reconnect . I was skeptic I even tested with the thermostat furnace but it literally did the job. Couldn't be happier."

"I requested an inspection of our attic to assess what needed to be done to improve its condition. I thought it may need an upgrade. Other venders earlier had told me that they would recommend new and/or added insulation, air sealing, mold treatment, etc. to the tune of multiple thousands of dollars. Brennen from Attic Doctor was the one who did our inspection. He explained why our attic really did not need much work to make it good. Contrary to others, he said we didn't need to upgrade our insulation, but just rearrange the already-adequate batting to free up the soffit vents and cover gaps, along with doing my own air leaks sealing or hiring a handyman at a much lower cost. He said we had no mold, as was asserted by another vendor. Washington State does not oversee the insulation vendors well so many can throw out their shingle with minimum expertise (effective lobbyists in Olympia?). Brennen has a college degree in construction science and knows his stuff. He was also honest with me"

"I hired Acorn Attics to insulate my house and I couldn’t be more happy with their work. Phil and his crew were on time, friendly and incredibly hard workers. He worked with me on scheduling and made sure to keep our project moving even when we had a setback with another repair. I highly recommend them. They will get the job done. FAQs for batt, rolled or reflective insulation install or upgrade projects in Lacey, WA

Batt insulation excels in vertical installations because it remains firmly in place and delivers consistent thermal performance. Blown-in insulation performs exceptionally in spaces such as attics, efficiently filling gaps in irregular areas.

Employing both insulation types according to their strengths enhances your home’s overall energy efficiency and comfort by providing a tailored solution for every space.

Start by measuring the square footage of the space, then match that area with the insulation thickness you need to hit your target R-value. Add a buffer for waste and odd-shaped spots so every cavity is covered.

Once you have a rough count, run it past a local insulation pro—their on-site advice will fine-tune the numbers and help you avoid costly miscalculations.

Old insulation that is dry, intact, and mold-free does not require removal before adding new insulation; stacking new insulation over it maintains effective thermal performance and boosts energy efficiency.

If the insulation is damp, moldy, or deteriorated, removal is necessary to eliminate health risks and ensure maximum effectiveness of the new layer. A professional insulation contractor will assess your situation and recommend the most effective solution.

Installing insulation in an average-sized home using batts or boards requires five to 12 hours. Using spray foam or blown-in insulation requires two to five hours. These timeframes are determined by the area’s size, accessibility, and whether old insulation must be removed.

Complex projects and hard-to-reach spaces demand extra time. Hiring an experienced insulation professional ensures that the installation is completed efficiently and correctly.

Insulation is measured by R-value, which defines how effectively it resists heat flow. A higher R-value provides superior thermal resistance, ensuring your home remains warm in winter and cool in summer.

Choosing the correct R-value is essential for maximizing energy efficiency and comfort, and it directly impacts long-term utility savings. Professional guidance determines the optimal R-value for your specific climate.
