"I live in New York and rent a townhouse out down in the area. Having used there services before to paint this townhouse, I knew that going back to them was the only right call to make. Both times they gave me great quotes, made it really easy to schedule and plan everything, and they only teased me about how much better there weather was once or twice! The size of the bathroom plus its addition was pretty big, but they were still able to get in and out of there pretty quick, leaving a couple of perfect coats on the wall. "I pay a monthly fee to CHW for insurance against equipment failure. Over a month ago CHW sent a repair technician to fix both of my garage doors, the technician made an adjustment on one door and chanced the opener on the other. A week or so ago the second door failed to open. Yes, my door opener is old, but the Warrantee says, if it can’t be fixed it will be replaced. CHW paid the tech $100 and said the rest $200 is on me. Please tell me why I should stay with CHW if I have to pay 2/3rds of the cost to replace the door opener? On a separate issue: Granted I accepted CHW’s offer of a Lowe’s card to replace my dishwasher, because I was unaware of how much dishwashers sell for, it cost me an additional 300. Again, please give me a reason for staying with CHW"

"They installed 2 systems and it took them maybe 4 hours for both of them. That included installing them up in the corners of both rooms, running the electrical out thru the walls and the condenser and a concrete block that it goes on. They are very efficient systems. If I had to buy another new air conditioner I would probably buy ductless systems.

Eric was fantastic from the very start. We had a long interview one afternoon and he impressed me with his enthusiasm and ideas on how to and quot;updateand quot; my old kitchen. It was built in 1975 and had two narrow passageways at each end of the boxed in kitchen.His bid was also most impressive, being about half the cost of other contractors, and this was something I could afford.
A few days after signing the contract, he came in with a crew and isolated the work area with plastic sheeting. I had a small area in the living room where we put the refrigerator and microwave. I was amazed at how fast they gutted the kitchen.
Reconstruction began immediately. The new ceiling was installed and the duct work completed in short order. Eric helped me pick out the colors and granite. I have no sense of decor so he would bring samples over for me to inspect.. His guidance and advice were invaluable. I think he could be a professional interior decorator as well. The sub-contractors he had helping him were all top quality. Eric seemed to know how to do every job as well as the electricians, plumbers, carpenters, etc., and he did a great job of making sure the work was done up to his standards. It is indeed satisfying to see a man take such pride in his work. He has restored my faith in the great american work ethic. I am a happy customer, and would recommend Eric without reservations."

"We did use somebody for painting the house. They are on Angie's List and they are NJ Painting. The painting part, they did well but they were going to replace the door too but they only did that half way. They brought the door and put it in but they didn't finish it or painted it. They never came back. My husband finished it. The painting work was well done, they did a good job but with everything else, I wasn't impressed. They cut a couple of our plants that were out front. They did that before hand and they were important plants to us and we were kind of upset about that. I think the price was probably fair. They didn't come and finish but they lost the money because I didn't pay them for the door work. They never got back."

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
