"Technician came to the house and analyzed the problem. It was determined that the cost of repair was over the allowable Choice Home Warranty limit and it should be replaced. Choice Home Warranty issued their replacement cost. This cost was unacceptable and I challenged their figure. After some negotiation I was offered an increased settlement amount. I still balked at their offer but I was told to take it or repair my old microwave. I finally accepted their amount, even though it is still well below what it will cost me to replace the unit. I might add that the existing microwave has the convection feature and I want to replace with same features. The cost that I will receive also does not include any removal, disposal or installation costs. At this time I am debating whether I will continue with Choice Home Warranty or consider other options."

My range now works better than it did when new, but I have a feeling that even if I have continuing problems with it, American Home Shield will just repair rather than replace due to the cost of the range. "I called Vince yesterday because my GE Microwave decided to quit working. He knew based on my description what the problem was and told me he would call me within an hour to let me know what the cost was. Unfortunately, GE would not sell us the part. He gave me a suggestion on which were the best and was here promptly this AM to install. Unfortunately, the new microwave was damaged in pkg. While I left to go find a replacement, he ran an errand and returned as soon as I called him. He installed the new one and removed my old one!
