"First Class Tile is exactly what the name implies. Eddie Luca and his crew do impeccable work! Initially, Eddie came out just to quote our first floor tile job. As I walked him through the house and happened to mention the other home improvements we were planning, I was pleased to find out that he could also complete our fireplace make-over & our front porch stone work. The scope of work included: removal of existing ~1,300 sq. ft. ceramic tile/carpet, prepping and installing 1,300 sq. ft. porcelain tile, installing fireplace stone and installing porch stone. Eddie and his crew were punctual everyday for 2 weeks, professional and take pride in their work. He and his crew moved our large pieces of furniture/appliances either downstairs or into the garage. As they removed the ceramic tile, they used water to keep the dust to a minimum since we were living in the home during construction. Our job necessitated a level subfloor to ensure proper installation of the tile. Eddie and his crew had the existing flooring removed and the subfloor installed and level in 2 days! He and his crew cleaned up every day before leaving our home. He knew we would be living in the house during construction so he made it easy and accessible for us to get upstairs and into the 1st floor office (where flooring was not being redone). He and his crew even moved our large pieces of furniture back into the house upon completion of the job! Eddie is a perfectionist which shows in his work. After installing the tile and grouting, he went over the entire floor marking spots where he felt a little more grout should be added. The front porch stone installation was a small job but it needed to coordinate with the prior stone work we had completed a few years ago on the bay windows. The fireplace make-over required an experienced, talented stone mason. Eddie definitely out-did himself! The finished product is far more than we could have imagined! Eddie and his crew are an exceptional company! Eddie's talent, attention-to-detail, personable/positive demeanor and respect for our home made the 2 week flooring project (which kept my family of 4 mostly upstairs) almost pleasant! Before Eddie completed all of the work, we decided to ask him to quote the flooring for one of our 2nd floor bathrooms! He was able to complete the bathroom flooring with the same attention-to-detail and we will be contacting him to install our kitchen backsplash in the near future. "After dealing with a big box store and having communications issues and measuring problems, we visited Granite City. They gave us a tour of where they cut and polish the stone, and listened to what we wanted done. After this visit, they measured the cabinets for the countertops just two days after the cabinets were installed. From that date it took just over two weeks to get the countertops installed. 1. Granite City cost was more than the big box store quoted, but the big box store quoted incorrectly, leaving out a major piece of the countertops, so I don't have a realistic price comparison. My best estimate is that Granite City cost about the same as the final cost would have been for the big box store. 2. Granite City used a laser system to measure the countertops. When the counters arrived, they fit the space with amazing precision. The big box store measurements were off by several inches for the island. 3. Granite City had finished countertops delivered and installed in just over two weeks from measuring. The big box store promised 4 to 6 week delivery. 4. Granite City provided a long countertop with no seams. The big box store was going to have a seam in the middle of the major work space."

"Dean was very prompt and knowledgeable during our initial phone conversation, even offering to walk my husband and I though the tile replacement process rather than hiring someone given the limited replacement needed.  Due to our lack of experience and desire to have the job done right we opted to schedule with Dean for a few weeks later.  <br /> Those 2.5 weeks go by and on the day scheduled, no service provider showed up. After leaving a message, Dean was quick to call and apologize profusely. He was determined to make it right and sent his team out the next day with a call when they were dispatched, another apology and a discounted rate. The team was professional and did a great job. They made a point also to apologize and say missed appointments are not something that happens with this company.  <br /> We appreciate the excellent tile work and despite the initial scheduling concern, Dean was honest and addressed the mistake promptly.
