 Getting a quote for the job was very straight-forward with JM Plumbing & Mechanical.  I sent a message to JM Plumbing and Mechanical through Angie's List message feature.  I described the 3 problems and received a prompt response with a quote of $350.  Jerry and TJ arrived ahead of the scheduled time, and got right down to business.  They let me know the sequence they would be working on the issues and immediately shut off the water and got to work.  After the work started, I mentioned another problem with the water running in the toilet and Jerry said he would look at that as well.  They were prepared with the parts they needed for the initial repair requests, but needed additional parts for the toilet repair so went to Home Depot to get those and then returned and completed the shower handle, toilet repair, and outside faucet repair very quickly.  Then TJ got under the house, found the leaky pipe and caulked that.  That job alone was a big relief to get taken care of.  Considering the crawlspace under this house, I had no idea how much something like this would cost to have fixed, but it was completed by TJ like it was no big deal.  Before leaving, two more issues came up unrelated to my original request.  Jerry was very sincere in offering to check those out as well and did so in a matter of minutes.  I could not be more satisfied with the value I received for $350 and would definitely use this company again.

"Vortex Plumbing did a great job! It was quite an extensive process. It takes days to re-pipe a whole house and I was expecting to be without running water for a few of those. Baldeep did his best to make our inconvenience as little as possible. "Master bedroom, master bathroom, guest bath, & hallway was flooded when toilet supply line broke. As a recent first time homebuyer not noing how home owners insurance worked I attempted to begin the drying out process on my own renting some carpet fans and removing some of the carpet and padding. After speaking with the home owners insurance agent, who insisted a remediation company come out, I called san diego water damage. The response was quick and the owner himself came out, I had thought that my efforts would have been sufficent to dry things out, until Rafeal the owner showed me the water still in the walls using a thermal camera, Being a father of two young children the last thing i wanted was a unhealthy enviroment for my children with the potential of mold growth in the walls. Rafeal told me not to worry and quit stressing my self out trying to do everything myself and juggle my job and family at the same time. He reminded me that these instances are why home owners have insurance. So a PROFESSIONAL took over and quickly went to work with a very knowlegable and friendly crew. If aanother disaster happens again believe me the first thing I would do is call a professional and that would be SAN DIEGO WATER DAMAGE"

"CHRISTOPHER & COMPANY EMPLOYEE STEVE ASSESSED THE PROBLEM, EXPLAINED HIS SOLUTION, WENT TO HOME DEPOT TO PURCHASE MATERIALS AND CAME BACK TO REPAIR THE DRY ROT DAMAGE.  HE REMOVED THE DRY ROT AREAS OF THE DOOR AND DOOR FRAME AND THEN REPLACED THE DAMAGED AREAS WITH PLASTIC SO WE DON'T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT DEALING WITH DRY ROT IN THIS AREA AGAIN.  HE CAULKED AREAS TO MAKE A COMPLETE SEAL.  HE PAINTED THE  AREAS WHERE THE REPLACEMENT MATERIALS BUTTED UP AGAINST THE REMAINING AREAS TO MAKE A FINISHED LOOK THAT BLENDED WITH THE OLD, REMAINING ADJACENT AREAS OF THE DOOR AND FRAME.  
ALSO HAD HIM GIVE US AN ESTIMATE FOR REPLACING TWO DOORS ON OUR GARDEN SHED.
PLUS HAD HIM LOOK AT A DRY ROT AREA UNDER THE KITCHEN SINK.  STEVE EXPLAINED HOW HE WOULD GO ABOUT REPLACING THE UNDER SINK AREA MAKING CERTAIN THE  SUPPORTING WALL WAS ADEQUATELY REPAIRED TO  CONTINUE THE SUPPORT OF THE TILED COUNTER TOP. 
CLEANED UP THE AREA WHERE HE WORKED AND REMOVED ALL DEBRIS.
