"Austin arrived on time and immediately knew exactly what to look for and cleared out a clogged line for us in no time. I couldn't get the clog myself with basic tools and knowledge so it was well worth getting professionals to solve the issue for me."

"Jeremy was very prompt about responding to my original inquiry (and this was on a Sunday, with him calling me back that day). He was able to get one of his plumbers (Jacob) out early the next morning, and the drain was completely cleared after 30min. Jacob was friendly, efficient and professional; we will definitely call Timmons Plumbing for any plumbing issues we run into in the future."

Small jobs welcome

"Duey's Plumbing had been recommended by area residents, family and Realtors. I called Duey's. The company quickly sent out a serviceman. He called me an hour after starting the job. He'd dug up the wet area and discovered that there was an underground back-flow device that had failed, via corrosion, and was leaking water into the soil. He told me that the current code required a vacuum break device above ground to insure that no contaminants from the irrigation system were allowed to flow back into the house/city water supply. He also told me how much that would cost for the parts and the labor hours (2 more hours). We also talked about the best place to put that device. I wanted it installed out of sight around the corner of the house, but he insisted it be installed in the front of the house, near the area of the leak; less distance to trench I suppose. I came out later and found the job had been done and the area filled back in. Isn't Caliche an amazing substance? (calcium carbonate) This tar-baby like substance is very difficult to work with when wet (It sticks to you and your tools, worse, it accumulates until you have a very large and heavy mass weighing you and your tools down.) and emulates all of the attributes of concrete when dry. I thought that i had regular top soil..... I suppose that over the last 36 years that the calcium carbonate of the subsurface caliche has percolated up into the original top soil and thus incorporated it into the rest of the stuff below ground....yes, this entire area sits atop an old reef structure. No chance of removing the stuff, its' everywhere.

My hat is off to the technician from Duey's that did this job. He arrived at the job site and got right to work digging up that wet spot of caliche soil in 100+ Degree temperature with Texas Humidity. He got the job done with a very high degree of quality in three hours. The bill arrived the next week and was exactly what had been agreed upon. What more can you ask for; Integrity, professionalism, communication and timeliness, great work ethics, and great ethics! That is exactly what I'd been told to expect! I was not disappointed. Thank you very, very much."

"Joe from JMS Drain Services was my service technician who arrived well within the window scheduled service time. Joe came in, inspected the sink to determine how to resolve my issue, took out the tool (snake apparatus) to clear the sink, and departed my premises within 15 minutes. I was pleased he resolved my clogged sink so quickly so I could rest after a night's work. Thank you again, Joe."

"I recently hired Knockout Plumbing, owned and operated by Jacob, for a major project on my property—and I couldn’t be more impressed. The job involved installing a new underground water line from an existing well pump, running approximately 400 feet to another site on the property. Jacob handled the entire process with professionalism and precision. In addition to the water line, he also installed a full septic system, making the project truly turnkey. What really stood out was his knowledge and transparency—he offered a range of great options for water softening systems and water tanks, helping me make informed decisions based on my needs and budget. Jacob is clearly experienced, dependable, and takes pride in his work. If you’re looking for quality plumbing work done right the first time, I highly recommend Knockout Plumbing."

FAQs for drain clog or blockage clearing projects in Lampasas, TX

Snaking a simple clog near a tub, toilet, or sink often takes about five minutes. Deeper blockages along the main line can stretch the job to a few hours because the pro must feed extra cable and may need a camera to confirm the pipe is clear. Either way, specialized tools help pros work quickly and keep your drains running for the long haul.

Aggressive snaking can scratch pipes, push debris deeper, or even crack older lines. That risk is low with an experienced plumber who matches the cable size to the pipe and eases the snake through bends instead of forcing it. If you’re unsure of your technique—or your pipes are already fragile—calling a licensed pro is the safest, and often cheapest, move.

Start with simple barriers: mesh screens on every tub, shower, and sink keep hair, food bits, and jewelry out of the pipes. Skip harsh chemicals; a monthly flush with hot (not boiling) water clears light buildup without damaging plastic lines. Finally, practice smart disposal—no grease, wipes, or kitty litter down the drain—and schedule routine cleanings if you have older plumbing.

Roto‑Rooter typically charges a flat $160 to $450 for standard snaking, which may include a quick sewer inspection and basic clean‑out. Exact pricing depends on the clog’s location and complexity. Repairs or part replacements fall outside that flat fee, so ask for a line‑item estimate if your tech spots broken pipe sections or recommends additional work.

Most liquid cleaners rely on caustic chemicals that eat through hair and grime—but they also erode metal and even some plastics over time. Repeated use strips protective pipe coatings and can leave you with leaks or premature failures. If hot water or a plunger doesn’t help, call a plumber for mechanical removal instead of pouring more chemicals down the line.
