"We called Bob to do an estimate on our roof. He explained that he had jobs lined up to be completed before ours, but if we sprang a leak, he would come and tarp it immediately. Fortunately, that didn't happen. As it was July, Bob and his helper showed up quite early in the morning to begin work. Bob explained his work schedule, meaning he would take off in the worst of the afternoon heat and return in the evening to continue. They draped tarps around the house to catch errant nails and shingles as they tore off the old roof. We learned that there are certain detailed tasks that Bob does himself, like flashing around a chimney. "<p>We had been having problems with leaks in our sunken living room for quite a while. The leaks started last year and we had PermaSeal come out and do a "repair" which ended up not working. (The amount of water was reduced, but it still kept coming in, even after PermaSeal did a wrap seal of our foundation.) Frustrated, especially after PermaSeal did not guarantee their last job and wanted to charge us 1000s of dollars for a redo, we consulted with our neighbor across the street who had a similar problem that arose right when ours did. They said Safeguard had IDd and fixed their leak issue (same spot as ours) for a third of what PermaSeal charged, so we called Safeguard.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Phil from Safeguard came out very promptly (actually early! He asked permission to come a full 2 hours early if it was convenient for me, and I said yes). He looked at the area where we suspected the leak occurred and commented that PermaSeal (his former employer!) had done a poor job. He also remarked that the leak might not even be a foundation leak, but rather an above-grade leak like a mortar problem or chimney problem that was then dripping down behind the drywall. He conducted a series of tests using water from our hose to see where water might seep in depending on where the water was pointed. He did a "flood" test of the ground near the foundation---no leak. Then he pointed to some spots where there was missing caulk on our chimney seams, and said that the water could be getting in there instead. He had me go inside and look inside the fireplace while he trained the hose on these side seams, and BINGO! That's where the water was getting in. He found the exact leak location when PermaSeal could not (they just "guessed") Phil then said, "Well, we don't fix that since it's above-grade, so I recommend you contact a siding or chimney company to make those repairs. I'm not going to sell you something that won't fix the real problem just to make my commission."</p> <p>Phil spent nearly 2 hours identifying the true source of our water problem, even when it would not benefit him or his company. Very honest and decent guy, and we WILL use this company when we do have a foundation problem. Great!</p> <br />"

"Ryan Musick and his Fivestone Foundations team were professional from the start. Ryan was accessible and prompt for his appointment to bid the project. He quickly took measurements, explained the capabilities of the system he wanted to install and emailed a bid soon after.  <br /> The project started the day my family and I left for a summer road trip. The Fivestone team arrived early and got right to work. We were doing last minute packing and loading up our car. The guys were polite and friendly and moving quickly on the job. Apparently, my older home has a thin concrete slab which allowed them to move around the perimeter of the basement in less time than they had anticipated. We left town and left them with access to the basement. Ryan kept us updated on progress and completion of the job. I was pleasantly surprised upon my return, at how clean they had left the basement. Within the hour, he called back to say that the installer had worried about tying the drain into the sump system and thought that connecting it directly to the sewer line would be a better way to handle the dirt and silt.  <br /> Within 24 hours, another Fivestone Foundation team was at my door to connect the floor drain to the sewer line. That was fantastic response time! "To Expert House Movers <br /> We wanted to let you know just how pleased we are with the work you did on our house. Before we contacted you, we had several other contractors look at our home. We actually had hired another contractor, who took such a long time, never returned our calls, missed meetings, and took months to even get us our bid. And when that contractor did get us our bid, it was more than doubled our previously discussed budget!  <br /> That is when we called you, you came out immediately, was extremely professional, but more importantly, you had a personal interaction with both me and my wife throughout the entire process. You answered all our phone calls, all of our questions, and talked with us throughout the entire process. We felt extremely confident and assured through the entire lift. This house is our dream house and we are going to live in it until we die, and you knew how much it meant to us, and you took care of it as if it were your own. <br /> As you know, my wife ended up in the hospital with some complications with her surgery while you were working on our home, and you took such great care of our house. You knew she was very disappointed that she could not be there, as she designed the foundation window placements and had a big part in the doors and steps. Your crew was so kind and so professional and meticulous, that they knew that two particular windows were very important to my wife.  Your crew wanted to get them perfect and asked me some questions about them, that I could not answer. My wife was feeling better, but still in the hospital, and I called her on the phone, while your crew waited for me, as she and I discussed for several minutes the exact placement of the windows. Some minor changes had to be made and your crew could have easily just slapped the two windows in the new location, which was only slightly off of the original plan, and be done with it, but they stopped and pointed out where my wife originally wanted them and the new location difference and wanted to be sure that my wife understood the change, and wanted me to talk to my wife first. I was so very impressed that they made the adjustments on the spot that my wife suggested over the phone. I don’t think any other company would have gone through this much trouble to please their customers! <br /> You also were very respectful of our property, neighbors, and your crew were always very willing to stop and explain the process of what was going to happen next. Not one time did we ever feel like we were in your way. Actually, it was the opposite, we felt like you and your crew were very excited to show us your equipment and how it worked and actually wanted us around so we could see how it all worked and so we could see for ourselves how everything was perfect - and it was! <br /> We will always remember you and think of you so highly. Thank you for making the beginning our home building so easy and off to such a perfect start. There are so many things that can go wrong when redoing a home, and having it go off with such a perfect start gives us such great hope. You have certainly set bar very high for the other contractors that will be coming in for the other parts of the home! Your company and its crew should be very proud of its work. You do a job that is very difficult, complex and tedious, but you do it with care, expertise, and perfection. We actually miss you guys and wish you were around. You are like family to us. "Monday they showed up on time  , by the end of the day roof was ready for shingles.and the yard was cleaned up. Shingles went on tuesday , they finished wednesday  yard all cleaned up again and job completed. <br />"

"Everything went fine, Patrick came out the day after I called him to give me an estimate on the initial work which included the parts (75 gallon hot water heater and other parts) and labor.  Patrick and his guys showed up right on time and completed the majority of the work that day, the only problem was the radiator.  For anyone who has radiator heat knows that it can't be beat but replacing parts on an 80 + year old 500lb monster can be quite a task, after finally getting the proper parts and a lot of sweat,  the radiator was fixed and is running fine, thank goodness it didn't get cold in that time.  Patrick also gave me a price to fix the sewer pipe which would entail breaking out a portion of the concrete floor, digging down about 5 feet through chicago clay, replacing the broken section of pipe and re-cementing the floor.  <br /> I decided to have this done a few weeks after the initial work, Patrick was unavailable but his wife,  brother and another worker showed up and did a great job.  I would defiantly recommend them for any plumbing work that needs to be done. <br />   <br />"
