"It was perfect! They had to replace butcher block countertops that had been incorrectly installed by another company. They came out and gave an estimate and had samples of wood to choose from and gave options for the installation on the edges, etc. They show up when they are scheduled to for all appointments and they explain what they are going to do and how to care for the counters after installation. Exceptional people to work with!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!"

"I had old style yellow oak kitchen cabinets. Instead of tearing them out, I decided to reface with MadCity. They were professional, efficient and did excellent work. My cabinet doors were re-made in a newer more modern style, the hinges are now on the inside and slow close, and the finish is beautiful. I am now proud of my kitchen. I would recommend MadCity based on quality of their product and work. These have a lifetime guarantee and being local, I am confident in their service in the future (though I'm doubting I will have issues). Great experience from sale to installation."

"We had a big Ceder Chest.  It was very beaten up and had a broken leg.  We weren't sure what it was going to look like.  When we picked-up the Ceder Chest we couldn't believe it was ours.  They did such a beautiful and wonderful job.  I would highly .recommend them.  I have a few more ceder chest that they will be the one I chose to refinish them. <br />"

"Ken worked with us on several iterations of the design stage. Very knowledgeable and willing to work with you to get the details right. He gave us a choice between high quality semi custom and custom. He built a custom island and a custom cabinet around the new farm sink and all went well. He went out of his way to coordinate the delivery of the sink with the delivery people seamlessly. Ken was a pleasure and knows his business!"

"Paul took our cabinet doors, cleaned them up, restained them and spray varnished them! They returned the doors to our home where they lightly sanded our cabinet boxes, restrained and varnished those as well! Paul and his wife Crissy did an excellent job! Our cabinets look better than they did 29 years ago! I would highly recommend this family team for any cabinetry needs! We plan to use them again when we remodel our master bath!"

"A great job was done to my kitchen by these guys. They were very professional and knowledgeable. My kitchen was painted better than I expected and they made sure to clean after they finished their job. Denys informed me how to take care of my kitchen cabinets so they would last longer and serve me for years to come. I give these guys a proud 5 stars"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Landrum, SC

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
