"I couldn’t be happier with the asphalt driveway and sealcoating work done on my property. From start to finish, the crew was professional, efficient, and clearly skilled at what they do. The driveway was graded perfectly, the asphalt went down smooth and even, and the final compaction left a clean, durable finish that looks fantastic. The sealcoat was applied with care and attention to detail—no streaks, no thin spots, and crisp edges all the way around. The surface now looks brand‑new, and the curb appeal is on another level. They showed up on time, communicated clearly, and left the jobsite spotless. If you’re looking for quality asphalt work done right the first time, this is the team to trust. Highly recommended."

"<p>Phillips Paving replaced our long asphalt driveway last year, but due to our own scheduling needs, the work had to be done after a series of summer rainstorms. As a result, unbeknownst to Phillips, the ground under our old driveway was very soft in several places. Once the driveway was finished, we discovered that large rain puddles would collect over those original soft spots, puddles that would stay for days. When we called Phillips about this, they came back promptly, at no charge, and added asphalt to those places to keep the puddles from forming. Their fixes worked, but the patches were still pretty visible. When we called them this year to see if anything could be done about this appearance issue, they came back promptly, reheated and smoothed the patches, and gave the entire driveway a fresh sealcoating. All this, again, at no charge. The driveway now looks great. Throughout, their managers and workers were friendly and easy to work with. Phillips clearly is a company that stands by its work, keeps its promises, and wants customers to be satisfied. We are very pleased with the result.  </p> <br />"

"They were really friendly, prompt and easy to work with and did the work within a week of providing an estimate. But the best part: they were about $5000 cheaper than the other contractors from whom I had bids. They were recommended here and that's why I called them. Seriously, Angie's List saved me a huge amount of money! <br />"

"BARKLEY REMOVED THE OLD, BROKEN ASPHALT, GRADED THE AREA, AND LAID 4 INCHES OF HOT MIX ASPHALT (APPROX 17 SQUARE YARDS). THE BID TOOK A LITTLE LONG TO RECEIVE BUT ONCE THE DEAL WAS SIGNED THE JOB WAS PERFORMED INSIDE A WEEK. A FOUR MAN CREW SHOWED UP AT THE APPOINTED TIME ON THE APPOINTED DAY AND COMPLETED THE JOB IN 2 1/2 HOURS. EVERYONE WAS COURTEOUS AND THEY DID A GOOD JOB OF CLEANING UP BEFORE THEY LEFT."

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Lansing, KS

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
