Small jobs welcome

"They have done Snow Removal for us and have consistently done an excellent job. The sidewalks are completely clear of snow. We have some elderly and handicap, residents and they’re very quick to get here after the snow starts to pile up. Very pleased."

"The cleaning and sealing was done very thoroughly, with no damage to the wood. The Deckman responded quickly, gave clear estimate, and did the work within a week. They also cleaned and sealed another small walkway and porch at no extra charge. The house siding and plants were protected from being stained by the sealing process. The only weakness in the job performance came from too much weight placed on the ferns next to the deck, so that they will not fully recover until next summer."

"These projects were completed in one visit and at the specific time/date they said they would do them. They were professional, timely, and did an excellent job installing a kitchen pantry in an unused space in a 100 plus year old house. We are very happy with the results of all work and the price was considerably lower than other estimates. When they arrived to do the work they had all materials they needed. Estimate one week and work completed the following week."

"<p>Started later than planned. Seemed to be poor communication at the beginning but, just assumed it was start-up whoa's... </p> <p>daily work was typically 9 - 2:30 or 3. very rare an 8 hour day was put in unless I </p> <p>had pushed for completion of a step so that another contractor could come in (flooring). Quoted 1 1/2 months, took all of 3 months. Framing was quick and done well. everything after that was at a crawl. bathroom put a big wrench in the process. the drywall and ceiling (wallboard) were put in by a crew everywhere but the bathroom. the bathroom finishing was done by Pand M. it's obvious at a glance the difference in workmanship. the crew did much better. </p> <p>since completion of the job, we've had to replace/repair all the closet doors, repair ceiling vents, re-caulk the shower, all tv cable that was run has been repaired/replaced. one of the hallway doors only opens halfway.</p> <p>overall, basic construction with construction seems to be all I would recommend unfortunately. started out very promising.</p> <br />"

"The person responsible for the pressure wash used equipment that ran constantly without a trigger on the wand. He worked on a weekday and when we arrived home saw that he was hanging the wand on the fence when he needed to move the equipment or step away for any reason. Essentially, each time he needed to take a break our lawn was being pressure washed. We quickly took a cell phone video just in case but were hopeful that this only occurred the one time. Unfortunately a few days later the grass was dead in numerous spots along the fence. We contacted CertaPro, who sent someone to look at the issue. We showed this person the lawn and the video to which they replied “but it’s water, it should be good for the lawn”. In full disclosure, they did offer to throw some seed on our lawn. Anyone who has attempted to overseed a lawn will agree that summer is not an effective time to do this ultimately yielding little results. In the end we completed one project but created another. The fence did come out nicely, which is what we paid for. The lack of accountability, poor customer service and additional lawn care was not included in our quote. I’d recommend saving yourself some frustration and going with another one of the many companies willing to do this work in the Bloomington/Normal area."

FAQs for deck, fence, patio or porch clean and seal projects in Le Roy, IL

You should clean your deck before sealing it. Cleaning before refinishing is critical. If you don’t remove dirt and debris, you'll trap moisture in the wood, which prevents the new sealer from working correctly and can lead to costly repairs. Whether you need to sand, power wash, or sandblast depends on your deck's condition.

Sealing and staining your deck are essential maintenance methods that protect and beautify your outdoor space. Stain adds rich color and guards against fading, while sealant fortifies the wood against moisture and weather damage. Wood type, climate, deck age, and the degree of existing damage determine whether your deck benefits from one or both treatments. Using both options extends your deck’s durability and enhances its overall appearance.

Power washing and sealing your deck costs $500 to $1,700. This process combines the removal of stubborn dirt and debris with a protective seal that preserves the wood’s integrity. Effective cleaning eliminates harmful buildup, and a proper seal prevents moisture damage and wood decay, ensuring long-term durability and reducing future repair expenses.

Your deck must be sealed every one to three years to maintain its strength and appearance. Regular sealing is essential to protect the wood against moisture, mold, and harmful UV rays. A consistent sealing schedule prevents rapid deterioration and costly repairs. Inspections should be performed annually to determine if the protective layer remains intact, extending the life of your deck.

Leaving your deck untreated compromises its structural integrity and safety. An unprotected deck rots quickly due to moisture and environmental exposure, which means that neglecting sealing results in rapid decay and expensive replacement costs of $4,125 to $11,650. Sealing your deck is essential for maintaining its durability and protecting your home.

The sealant on your deck dries within a few hours and reaches full cure within 72 hours before regular use. It is essential to wait until the complete curing period to ensure the protective layer fully sets and resists weather and foot traffic. Proper drying guarantees that your deck is fully protected against moisture and environmental damage, ensuring lasting quality.
