"Amazing. The workmanship blew us away. They came to measure; we showed them a picture of what we wanted; and they delivered. They were courteous and professional and kept the house clean. We will definitely use them again for any home improvement projects. We are in phase 2 of the remodel - when the island is completed with our new countertops, I will post photos!"

"The service was wonderful. This is a rental and I live out of state and Darryl took care of everything for me. He even handled the insurance company appropriately! He made this roof repair an easy experience for me."

"Reggie did a great job. All the popcorn ceiling removal and repairs to drywall look nice and smooth, and all the paint (ceilings, wall, trim, and doors) looks great. He finished the job in the estimated time frame, and I would gladly hire him again in the future."

"Excellent. David has a conscience, which places him in a lonely category of builders. He wants to make sure it is done right, and he will communicate. Be patient because good work takes time and understand he does this for a LIVING, not a charity. In other words....be reasonable."

"Estimate review was quick and easy. Workers arrived to start each day at that exact time stated. They were very neat and professional. Laid coverings over everything. Very good repair work where necessary, and even some areas that were not known. Looks great."

"EXCELLENT! I am so pleased with the work quality, the punctuality, the courteous and respectful employees. They were not the lowest bid, but we went with them because we felt they could deliver quality on time. They did. They were well worth the little extra they charged. They actually found more repair than they had estimated. They did not ask to increase the quote. We did up the payout because of the professional way they handled everything. The workers were so careful of our plants and other more fragile items outdoor. We will have them back anytime we need inside or outside painting."

"I would highly recommend this business.  We had them come and restain the deck and at first just powerwash the house.  They scheduled the work right away.  After doing the pressure washing, there were some areas with paint chips under the soffit.  Mike offered to repaint those for free.  During this, they noticed areas of the soffit that were rotten, so we had them repair those areas of the wood.  They also fixed a few screens that were damaged during the pressure washing for free.
Everything turned out great, and we are very happy we had this work done.  Mike and Crystal are very professional and easy to work with.  I will be having them do some more work on our house in the near future.

FAQs for wood stairs and railings repair projects in Leesville, SC

Hiring a pro to refinish wooden stairs means labor makes up 20% to 30% of your total budget. That price covers sanding, staining, and sealing each step. In most cases, a certified refinisher can tackle a 10-step staircase in about two hours, then apply stain and sealant for a durable, eye-catching finish that stands up to daily traffic.

A pro can sand a standard 10-step staircase in roughly two hours, then needs another four to six hours for each coat of stain and sealant to dry. DIYers should budget up to a week for sanding, staining, and sealing in stages. With a crew on site, the bulk of the work is completed in a single day, minimizing disruptions while still achieving a high-quality finish.

It’s possible to refinish stairs without full-scale sanding by using chemical strippers, power buffers, or simply layering a fresh finish over the existing coat. Chemical strippers break down old stains and sealants, while buffers quickly shave off surface material. Even so, a quick hand-sand with fine-grit paper helps the new finish bond properly and look smooth. As always, suit up in protective gear and follow product directions to keep your wood—and yourself—safe.

For most stair projects, you’ll want two sandpaper grits. Begin with 80- to 120-grit to strip the old finish and even out rough spots, then move to 150- to 220-grit for a smooth, ready-for-stain surface. A power sander speeds up the coarse pass, but switches to hand sanding with the fine grit in corners and along edges to keep abrasion even and give stain or sealer something to grab onto.
