"Excellent, very satisfactory. Radon Brothers' rep came, saw the problem, and replaced the leaking radon exhaust PVC pipe in my basement floor. All in record time. Am very satisfied and will continue using Angi contractors."

"The company installed a radon mitigation system in my house, reducing the level from 300 to .4. They obviously did superb work, and did it promptly at reasonable cost (much lower than the statewide company I got a quote from). Then afterward they provided outstanding customer service by promptly responding to my request to replace the original powerful fan with a quieter fan. Tuan obviously cared about my satisfaction as a customer. My experience is that this company is extremely competent, professional and trustworthy, and I give them my highest recommendation."

"The inspector arrived right on time at the property and he was very professional. He took the time to explain in detail everything he was doing during the inspection. We received our general report that same day. The only thing that took longer was the radon test report, but this happened because they send it to a laboratory, but as soon as they got the results back they sent it right away and they even send a quote for the mitigation system shortly after. Great service and prices."

"I can't recommend REI highly enough. I called and Frank got my inspection scheduled ASAP and well within my time frame. Pete did a very thorough inspection of the home, checking every system and detail, and answering every question I had. He then provided me with a detailed report within 48 hours, well organized, and included estimate ranges for repairs. If I purchase the property, Pete's report will become a dog-eared reference for years to come. The cost was reasonable for having three inspections (house, termite, radon) of a large, old home. Thank you Pete, Frank, and REI!"

"They first visited our home and after evaluating the situation, drew up a detailed plan and provided a written bid for performing the work. <br />The bid included a guarantee that their system would reduce the radon in our basement to an acceptable level. <br />After they received our signed contract they called and scheduled to do the work within one week. <br />They arrived promptly at the scheduled date and time. They completed the work in a professional manner in the estimated time allotted and took care to clean the work areas when they were done. <br />They provided a radon test kit to verify that the system worked as intended. <br />We have received the results from the follow-up test and we are very happy that radon levels have decreased to less than 1. <br /> <br /> <br />"

FAQs for radon gas abatement projects in Leola, PA

The only way to know whether your home or water supply contains radon is to schedule a professional test. A qualified radon inspector will collect samples, deliver lab-verified results, and explain the findings for $150 to $800. Once you know your exact levels, you and your radon mitigation pro can choose the right system and tackle the problem before it affects your family’s health.

Both roles tackle radon, but they focus on different steps. Inspectors test your home, interpret the results, and determine whether levels exceed EPA guidelines. Mitigation pros design and install the system that lowers those levels. Some companies do both, but the skills and equipment differ, so always verify that the person you hire is properly certified for the specific service you need.

Installing a mitigation unit fixes radon problems by reducing indoor gas levels to established safe standards. A system designed and installed by a mitigation expert, tailored to your home's specific layout and foundation, guarantees effective radon reduction. This expert installation ensures consistent performance over time while safeguarding your indoor air quality.

Open windows and doors do not reduce radon levels because they trigger a pressure imbalance that draws radon-laden air into your home. This practice fails to control radon concentration and can even worsen the issue. An active suction mitigation system provides a proven, safe, and effective solution to reliably reduce radon levels.

Radon mitigation systems generally last between 10 and 30 years, depending on system type and maintenance. Passive systems endure the longest because they have no moving parts, whereas active systems, which use a fan, require fan replacement every 5 to 10 years. System components, such as PVC pipes, seals, and fittings, can remain effective for decades when paired with periodic inspections and proper maintenance.

Radon mitigation systems consume between 300 and 3,000 kWh of electricity per year, depending on fan size and system design. On average, an active radon fan draws 100 to 300 watts continuously, which translates to roughly 876 kWh annually, and adds $30 to $300 to your energy bill each year. Choosing a high-efficiency fan and ensuring tight sealing around pipes helps minimize these ongoing costs.
