"I couldn't have asked for a more pleasant experience! They were on time and very professional! My carpet and tile looks new! I also was so pleased with pricing! I have already booked their services for mid April to come and do upstairs bedrooms, hall, and playroom! So pleased! Thank you!"

"They did a very good job. There was a problem where a sash broke on one of the windows and they were attentive in replacing that. They were attentive when we had an issue.  They were here when they said they would be here.  I did have to call and follow-up with them because we were dealing with two different companies, so it was just the nature to make sure that we had communication correctly.  I think overall they have been very good."

"The cost was covered by the insurance company, so the cost for the flooring was less than the $3074 amount. The Rodgers Decor people were very helpful in the selection of the material, and the installation was well done. They did have to come back to fix a few things, including the shoe guard below the dish washer, but they did that promptly. There was also some confusion over the billing since we paid for part of the installation ourselves (for an upgrade to what the insurance would cover and to get the flooring in our utility room), and the Rodgers Decor people helped get it resolved and wrote a letter of clarification. They did point out the flooring we bought was especially soft, which we wanted, and it wouldn't be as durable, and we have found it to be easy to damage, but they did forewarn us. Good people to work with. <br />"

BAILEY'S CARPET BARN

"Bailey's Carpet Barn is the only place I will go for my flooring.  Once you buy flooring from them, you are family.  At least that's how we've been made to feel.  The initial work was done 3 or so years ago.  At the time, we weren't able to do the rest of the flooring.  He didn't try to talk us into it, just told us the costs for what we wanted.  Bill, the owner, was great about meeting with us and showing us different options, always keeping the price up front.  The installation of that initial flooring went great.  It was a floating floor which bubbled a couple times due to temperature changes and general movement, but any time we called, they have returned out promptly to fix it - at no additional charge to us.  We have now completed the flooring throughout the house and it looks great.  And whenever we've had an issue, we call Bill and his guys are out there as soon as they can to make any necessary fixes.  The guys are knowledgeable, professional, quick, and they do a great job of getting things cleaned up afterwards.  Outstanding company and we couldn't be happier.  I would recommend Baileys Carpet Barn to anyone needing flooring of whatever type.  They work very hard to make sure we are happier with the finish.  And we are.  <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Lexington, KY

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
