"He replaced a valve in the bathtub so I could once again take a bath. He stopped a link in the bath sink and went out looking for a replacement faucet. I had to order the faucet, so he came back in a few days to install the the new faucet. He was very nice and attentive to what I told him. He came when he said he would. I would most certainly call him again for any plumbing failures."

"We’ve used Tru-Flow numerous times with repairs and I can confidently say these guys go above and beyond for even the smallest inconvenience. Very professional and timely. In our most recent encounter, Jordan provided - in great detail, what the problem was, how they could fix it, and even recommendations to keep it cost effective. I can’t say enough good things about this company! We will continue using them again and again."

"We've used Chad/Water Boy's Plumbing for a variety of jobs at our old and our newer house. I think his work is solid. He's honest, efficient, punctual, reasonably price, and good communicator (e.g.,if he is caught up finishing a previous appointment he calls, and he explains the work he's done). He's the sort of tradesman you want - someone whom you can form a relationship with and will get to know your plumbing. <br />"

"Main line was cleaned out, roots were not bad. Charged $175 for that, which a little higher than I've paid in the past (typically $125-$135). He was not able to clear the bathroom drains at all due to the fact that they met in a T rather than a Y; the rooter would go down the tub and come up the sink and vice versa, rather than travelling down the common drain pipe. He said we'd need to call someone with either a micro- or even a nano-camera to see what was going on. I could tell he didn't like this outcome and wasn't used to not being able to fix something; I sympathized because I know it is a bad design that we've been dealing with for over 15 years. After he left, I filled the tub hoping that the weight of the water would eventually get through and went back to work. 6 hours later I came home and the water had not drained even a fraction of an inch; it was now totally clogged instead of just slow. Apparently the rooter, rather than clearing the T, had actually smeared gunk over the inside of the T, plugged it up completely. So I went to Home Depot and got some pure lye crystals. Then I plugged the bathroom sink and filled it with water (there is no overflow) to hold that end air and water tight, then removed the overflow plate on the tub and firmly shoved a rag inside of a Walmart bag into the overflow. Then I plunged the heck out of the tub drain until the water level started dropping. After all the water was gone from the tub, I release the sink which drained (did not come up in the tub, but it did gurgle). Then I did 3 treatments of the lye crystals according to the package directions, going from both the tub and sink ends, and now my tub is draining better than it has in years. The bad design is still there, and the real fix would be to jackhammer up the slab and replace at least the fitting if not the line itself, but the inside of that bathroom was just redone less than a year ago and we don't have the cash or inclination to tear up the floor right now. A plumber with a camera should be able to tell us exactly where the T fitting it which would be helpful. For now we are going to limp along by being fanatical about hair and other debris going down the tub and sink, and sending chemicals down periodically until we can tear up the floor and fix it right."

"John and his crew at A+ Plumbing & Gas were very professional and knowledgeable. The response time was quick, even on a holiday. John called and told me what to do immediately to be in safe conditions until he could get there. He showed up the very next morning and got the job done the the same day. He made sure everything was done proper, safe, and to last. This was a difficult situation getting a replacement tank in the attic, and they took the job on like a champ. I highly recommend them for any plumbing or gas work. Thanks!"

"They were able to schedule quickly and were helpful over the phone making sure that we had cut the water to the house etc. Called the day after Thanksgiving and they were able to schedule to fix the issue the following day. They came in and quickly found the issue. I assumed it would be a multi-day event, but they moved the furniture, ripped up the carpet, and jack hammered down to the pipe all within a few hours. They did miss the first time by about a foot. Our slab has a crack in it which he said can through off the machine. The were spot on with the second whole. They replaced the pipe (let us keep the broken piece as a souvenir) and filled the holes with concrete mix. They do not reinstall carpet but he gave us the number for a guy who came out the following Monday and got it all reinstalled very inexpensively. <br /> A slab leak is a terrible and expensive day, but Pipe down made it go so smoothly it was almost surreal. I would definitely suggest them to anyone. <br />"

"They dug a huge hole in my front yard looking for the existing water service line to the house. They dug up three shrubs that I had planted earlier in the year. The company?s pipe locator was not there when they started digging. If he had been, this mess could have been averted. After they called him back they dug up another shrub to get at the existing line. The work they did to install a new water service line was satisfactory. Now I just have a wrecked front yard ."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Lexington, OK

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
