"We again went to Floor boys to pick out carpet for our for our master bedroom. We used Chris Gardner as our salesperson and again he is extremely knowledgeable. He showed us carpets that are specifically for pets and showed us the correct pad to place under carpet. He is coming August 29 to measure. I recommend floor boys and Chris Gardner for all your flooring needs"

"Went great. Dave showed up on time and was made to wait unfortunately (had other workers in the way at first) which he did and was appreciated. He also answered all my questions which is always a plus. Carpet cleaning was quick only took about an hour and the results were superb. Price was very reasonable as well."

"Great experience! I found them on Angie's List and called, was able to set up an appointment with Brad a few days later. He came to the house and measured all of the spaces we wanted to carpet and then brought in several samples of different kinds of carpets at different price points. It was so nice not to have to go to a store multiple times, we did everything in that one meeting since he had all of the samples with him in his truck. He explained everything in detail and spent a few hours with us, even gave us some ideas for flooring in other parts of our home. It was quite a bit more expensive than we expected but the FROG is very large and oddly shaped and we hadn't really factored that in. We met on Wednesday, sent us quotes, and the carpets were installed the following Wednesday - it was so fast! Will definitely us them again for any future flooring needs!"

"They did a beautiful job. We are especially impressed with the matching job they did installing around a center fireplace. As the weather changed, the floor buckled somewhat. We called them back twice and they came out quickly and did a fact efficient job. We are very pleased with the result. The floor is beautiful! <br />"

"The installation of the countertops went smoothly though 4 end pieces had to be added after the fact to ensure protection of drywall at the ends of the counters since the backsplash couldn't extend out to the end of the counters. These pieces were delivered and installed within 24-48 hours. Very professional!"

"First, the salesman worked with us on price and negotiated a discount with the manufacturer due to the size of the project. He saved us approximately $1,000. While we were in the store, a couple was there who had had previous work done and they were back to place another order. They spoke highly of the installers who had done their previous work, and we requested those installers (Brad and Daniel). The installers were super professional, prompt and diligent. Brad has worked with Carpet One for 20 years, which says a lot about how the company treats its contractors. The installation work is perfect."

"Second time dealing with Lisa and Floor Mart West. The service and quality from 5 years ago impressed us so much when they recovered the first floor of the house that they were in the running for the 2nd floor. Things did not change (thankfully)! Customer service - beyond excellent, Lisa loves her job serving others and it shows. Excellent selection, and fair prices. Quality outstanding for carpet, materials and installation. Because of work schedule, they came out on a Saturday, no additional charge. Sabino and his team came in, removed carpet and padding on stairs, hallway and 2 bedrooms, cleaned-up, vacuumed and were out in less than 5 hours. Everyone 110% professional. HIGHLY recommended."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Lexington, SC

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
