During the inspection process when looking to buy a 1935 farmhouse, Eddie provided a detailed estimate and explanation of what needed to be done to make the foundation secure. They were willing and able to make repairs that two of the larger foundation repair companies said they wouldn't do after looking at the foundation. When we decided to go ahead with buying the house and chose Floors Sag or Shake for the repairs, I told Eddie that we'd be in touch after closing. He called the morning of our closing to see if we were ready to start repairs. They started when they said they would, did they work they outlined in the contract, finished when they promised and charged the amount in the contract. This seems to be such a simple, successful business model, but is so rare to actually experience as a customer. The crew were professional, respectful and generally likable guys. The supervisor came out on a Saturday to repair a leaking pipe in the crawl space, even though they weren't completely certain that they caused the leak. Floors Sag or Shake was also responsive after the project. A few of the footings still had the wooden forms attached and the vapor barrier had shifted a bit. The crew came back out and quickly took care of both issues.

"I pay a monthly fee to CHW for insurance against equipment failure. Over a month ago CHW sent a repair technician to fix both of my garage doors, the technician made an adjustment on one door and chanced the opener on the other. A week or so ago the second door failed to open. Yes, my door opener is old, but the Warrantee says, if it can’t be fixed it will be replaced. CHW paid the tech $100 and said the rest $200 is on me. Please tell me why I should stay with CHW if I have to pay 2/3rds of the cost to replace the door opener? On a separate issue: Granted I accepted CHW’s offer of a Lowe’s card to replace my dishwasher, because I was unaware of how much dishwashers sell for, it cost me an additional 300. Again, please give me a reason for staying with CHW"

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
