"I needed a new control station for my Rainbird sprinkler system. I had seen Judson Irrigation vehicles around so figured they were a satisfactory firm so arranged for them to come out. On 7/9/21 they came out and checked my sprinklers out and replaced one head. They also replaced my indoor Rainbird control for 6 stations with a combo indoor/outdoor board when I only needed an indoor controller. I received a bill from them for $177 for labor (not broken down on the bill). Inn calling them this included a $58 service call; a charge of $87 for ¾ of an hour billed at a rate of $116 per hour for the main service person; and $32 for the second person billed for a half hour at $64 an hour. The $116 an hour figures out to $4,640 gross for a week. We all wish we had wages like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The bill showed $332.92 for materials before tax which per their office included $252.89 for the controller; $76.58 for a module; and $3.45 for a new sprinkler head. Based on limited research, likely a cheaper source of parts is available. Likely if one is going to replace a Rainbird Sprinkler control station, one should get bids to do the project. I would not recommend Judson Irrigation for sprinkler work particularly based on their high labor charges!!!."
