The problem is they failed to fix the plug that was dead and failed to investigate or repair the flickering lights. I still have no idea if there is a fire hazard due to an electrical short. They did not appear to have any interest in dealing with the issue. Bottom line: I now have to hire another electrician. I originally chose Palmer because they are local, were very responsive to my inquiry and had an excellent rep per Angie's List. It is unclear to me why they were unwilling to complete the job. "This builder was the best contracted service that we ever got.
We had put in for a permit to install a "retractable awning" over our deck and were very disappointed when it was turned down by the Planning committee. Little did we know then that that was the best thing that could have happened.
We then learned that we could put up a permanent roof over the deck,  We went to "Angies list" and read the reviews of the various contractors and once that was done, we contacted Marshall Painter of Great American Log Homes  and he came the same day and looked at the project and brought us a drawing and a price the next day.
Actually his price was not that much more for a permanent roof than what other companies wanted for a "roll out awning", and it was custom built to fit and match the deck.
The work was professional, on time, and the price was very reasonable .
We are very pleased with the way it turned out, and feel lucky to have chosen the right man for the job.
Not only is Marshall an excellent and honest builder, he turned out to be a wonderful friend too.
