"In January of this year, I had another company come and take out the old insulation and install the blown-in insulation. However, they botched up the job and we found ourselves constantly vacuuming the insulation that was coming down through all the recess lights. They hadn’t bothered to seal them correctly. They also created so much mess removing the old insulation; so we had to move to the basement while cleaning up the main floor from the messy job they did. That’s when Dan was called in to remove the blown in kind and install the blue jeans insulation. Dan suggested the blue jeans batts, knowing my chemical sensitivity. I hadn’t known such insulation existed and am grateful he did to minimize exposure to chemical. I was very impressed from the moment I saw the crew wearing a suit that was clearly designed to protect them. Dan’s crew discovered that the other insulation company had not properly removed all the old insulation company, and Dan could have charged me more for the extra removal work, but he stuck with the quoted price and did an amazing job. He made sure I would not be affected by the removal of the old blown-in insulation(have asthma). This time no dust was created while removing the blown-in insulation. I can’t say enough about Dan and his crew. I am so grateful to him and his crew. Dan is honest, professional, empathetic, and is meticulous about getting job done right. I would most highly recommend him to anyone for any type of insulation work."

"Barb provided advice and input to our basement (painting recommendations, furniture placement and type, and overall use of space).  In addition to the basement, she re-arranged our formal family room, and gave us suggestions for new paint in the master bedroom, and provided some advance for our in-formal living room.   <br /> Overall she is a very knowledgeable and insightful decorator.  We took her suggestions and ran with them.  Have since painted the basement, master bedroom, and ordered furniture per her direction.  Can't wait to get it all in place! <br /> We have absolutely no reservation about referring her services to our friends and family. <br />"

"We love the way the condo now looks and functions.  Because we are new to Baltimore, we had no idea of where to go to get materials, and we did not know any contractors.  Annelynn works with the same group of providers for most of her projects, so it was easy for us to go into showrooms with her to pick out the products for our project.  Everything went smoothly.  Things were delivered correctly and on time.  Working with her contractors was a pleasure.  They were very considerate of working within the rules of the condo building, they were nice to everyone, and they kept things neat. <br /> Annelynn helped us decide on some beautiful finishes that we would have never thought of by ourselves.  We used a lot of glass in the cabinet doors, and we used all high end appliances and finishes.  These things made the project expensive, but the high end look and the beauty of the design make it worth every penny! <br />"

She is very willing to work with you, your style and your budget. She offers advice on how to update a room while keeping costs within your budget. I am not one that can envision a room, but I can tell if I like something or not. Pam is the visionary, has a great eye and does an excellent job. Her eye for color and what works together are wonderful. She helped to choose just the right paint colors for our breakfast room and daughter's bedroom. When helping to hang pictures and a mirror, she picked the best location and height to hang, and had her tool kit handy to do the work! When choosing lighting fixtures for my kitchen and dining room, she found the perfect pieces. Pam keeps her clients in mind as she shops, as I will occasionally get a text with a picture of a piece, asking if I like it! She is very punctual, not only in her appointment times, but with correspondence. I cannot say enough good things about her... If I had an unlimited budget, she would be remodeling my entire home!"

"This Master Bedroom renovation has been a pleasant experience in comparison with the experience I had in renovating the kitchen. (NOTE: another contractor was used).  Mr. Almonte has an uncanny ability in listening to the client (me) and producing ideas into something tangible.  The design of the master bedroom is one that is inclusive of my desires as well as exhibiting a blend of traditional elegance with contemporary styling.  The project is not complete as of yet; but I am so happy with the results thus far.  The room has certainly been transformed into an inviting and magnificent habitat. "<p>Deb Goode was recommended to me by my realtor.  I contacted her by phone and we scheduled a mutually convenient time for her to come to the house for an initial consultation (fee $80).  She was very friendly and responsive over the phone, and exactly the same in person.  I had already decided on some renovations (e.g., hardwood floors to replace linoleum; paint ceilings, walls, trim); to expedite the work, I planned to move all the furnishings out of the house.  Deb and I met prior to anything being done, and we went through the house room by room. She made recommendations as to what should and should not be moved back in, and where it should go.  We then discussed and decided on paint colors, flooring, and some additional renovations that would be a good investment for house resale.  All in all, a very positive and upbeat experience.  Deb came by the house again about a week before the renovations were completed, to get a better sense of what the newly refurbished house looked like, and make some final decisions about furnishings and decorating ideas.  Since I was not planning to live in the house once it was on the market, she offered a very reasonable price ($100/month) for renting artwork, kitchen and bath items, as well as a variety of other items to dress up the house (which I gladly accepted).</p> <p>Deb and her assistant arrived on staging day and went to work.  The house was already greatly improved - the paint, flooring, and granite countertops in the kitchen transformed the house from what I considered as a rather cold and lifeless place into an inviting and attractive abode.  But wow!!  Once Deb was finished with her magic, I wanted to move back in instead of selling!  By adding some colorful pillows here, attractive artwork there, pretty plants and flowers everywhere, candles, knick-knacks, etc. - well, I just don't know how to describe it.  It was truly a different place - Deb has a wonderful eye for color, placement of furniture and furnishings...just a terrific sense of what looks great.  I love it - and I'm sure potential buyers will be drawn in by its warm, homey, comfortable environment.</p> <p>I wholeheartedly recommend Deb Goode and A Goode Start Decorating.</p> <p><br /></p>"
