His father, Joe, Jr., formerly an Irvington, NJ, K-9 police officer, started a part-time fencing business with a friend from the force just to earn extra income. However, the business became successful and when he and his partner eventually retired, they went into fencing full-time.\nToday, over 40 years later, that business (B&M Fencing in Irvington) still thrives, but Joe, Jr., now works with his son at eagle fence.\nJoe, III, originally started Eagle Fence in Warren, where he was living with his parents after finishing up his studies at Syracuse University in 1985. He had learned a great deal over the years from working with his father and decided the fencing business was what made him happiest. He later decided to move the business closer to Hunterdon County because of the county's increasing growth.\n''It took me nearly three years to find the perfect place," he recalls. "Nothing was done right. They came back to fix the problem last year and today it sagged so badly the fence is humped in the middle around my garbage cans in my driveway for all to see. And the rest of the fence is not straight. Terrible job."
