"when I initially contacted Cabinet Gems, he was in the middle of an installation. He gave me a quick quote via text, and advised it would be a month or two before he could get to my cabinet. I was fine with that, had a temporary solution that worked okay. He came over on the holiday weekend to take final measurements and details, and had the cabinet back to me within the week. The cabinetry work was lovely, and couldn't have asked for a more solid and sturdy unit. The price of for custom work was about the market value, and he was fine with me taking on painting, finishing and installation. <br />"

"We had Kitchen Tune Up renovate our kitchen last year, and we are very pleased with the both the kitchen and the service. Susan was both professional and friendly. The workers who came in and did the work were great–they got the work done and it looked very good and was finished well. They even accommodated our cats who wanted to see what was going on. I still walk into the kitchen and say how much I love it! It functions so well for us and our cooking style. Thank you Kitchen Tune Up!"

"Fran and Michael Lanari came to our home to assess bathroom and take measurements.  Discussed options and style design at that time.  Once they had all their figures/ideas in place we went to their business to discuss details.  Fran had selected combinations of tile, stone, glasswork, colors.  We selected the plumbing fixtures, vanity, etc at this time.  They were extremely knowledgeable with the design aspect and had a good idea of the style we were looking for.  The workers (Samson Birch and his crew) were very professional and knowledgeable in what they were doing.  Samson gave us suggestions on placement of several items with explanation of why it would be better one way versus the other way.  Workers came ready to work. The bathroom was gutted, tile shower with stone flooring and a "waterfall" design with glass tiles were installed after prep work, shower bar and corner shelves were installed. Shower fixtures, vanity fixtures, automatic fan installed.  New high vanity installed, framed mirror, toilet, shower doors, tile flooring, above toilet cabinet.  The bathroom looks bigger and I have plenty of storage.  We were extremely satisfied and would definitely use them again. <br />"

"Everything went like clockwork. I've never worked with a construction crew that was as punctual and as professional. Everything is absolutely perfect. The cabinet guy is truly a perfectionist and did amazing work. <br /> This company was NOT the low bidder, but we definitely got what we paid for with the exceptional and timely service. <br />"

"Contract with him signed on August 15, 2019, supplies ordered and installed on 9-5 where he could fit us in before leaving for a reunion and a vacation. The backsplash was the largest problem as it was made in 2 pieces and when he installed it there was a large gap that he knew was there when he completed the work. When he took our final check he offered no solution to the problem. The second problem was the counter had four vertical cuts that showed seams. Those seams were supposed to be covered with the gem loc and was not done. The two angle cuts in our U shaped counter was off a bit as the one side gap is larger than the other. His caulking work was not done well and needs to be redone. We emailed him that evening (9-5) and told him that we are disappointed with the work. Did not hear from him again on 9-10. This time he said he would order the materials. By 9-23 we asked when are you coming. He said he was still waiting on the gem loc. Still no response by 10-4 so I emailed him and said not to bother. He quickly said he had the materials and could make the changes but only after I said to forget it. He should have responded sooner with a real interest to fix the problems or better yet he should have taken more time to do it right the first time and not try to fit us in before his vacations."

"I was having a spur of the moment party and needed my dining room painted ASAP. I had been experimenting with paint colors and my walls had several different colors on the walls. I contacted Michael and he just happened to have finished a job and had that day available. All I wanted were my dining room walls painted one color. Michael was glad to help out. He showed up on time ready to work. He brought a helper and they knocked it out without incident or mess. He was very reasonable with his price and I will definitely call Michael to finish the job. I will be needing that room completed and other rooms painted that will also include painting and repairing some of my woodwork (trim). <br />"

"From start to finish, Eric made sure that he knew exactly what I wanted. He and his Dad completed the job as promised. The quality of their work is outstanding and the pride they take in their craftsmanship is evident by the attention they paid to the smallest detail. All debris and work related materials was cleaned up once the job was done."

"This is the fourth time we've worked with James and Mike and as usual their work and professionalism was top notch. All jobs were done well and any issues that arose were caught and corrected ASAP. Communication was good despite them being exceptionally busy and as usual Mike followed-up at the end of the job and came by to inspect everything."

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Little-rock-afb, AR

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
