"I visited there showroom and spoke to Sandy, very informative and very professional. There isn't a question that she doesn't have an answer to. She walked us through each step and showed us what type of materials would be used in order to install the countertops.The timing was our most difficult piece to the puzzle and both Sandy and her Husband were able to accommodate. We wanted this project done while our family was on vacation so we didn't have to deal with the mess. Aurora stone was able to come to the house that week and laser the area for measurements. Once they had the measurements they needed a week to complete the order and prepare for install.  While we were gone Sandy and our general contractor coordinated the install and when we got back from vacation our new sink and countertops were installed. I love supporting local business and Aurora stone is one of the best.

"Judging from the reviews, I guess we are the only ones disappointed with our experience with Central New England Soapstone. Our negative experience is based almost entirely on their lack of responsiveness and communication. I called twice and left messages - got no response. A couple of weeks later my partner called twice - and finally got a callback the second time.
Dave was given the specs regarding the job, but seemed very busy and distracted. Apparently he was doing trade shows. It took at least another phone call and more than a week to get a quote. It was approx $600 more than the local fabricator's, and he refused to cut the backsplash to 3/4 inch width (because we were using Beleza soapstone), which the local fabricator (Continental Stone-Sterling MA) said they could do.
We were put off by the difficulty of communicating with New England Soapstone and really wanted 3/4" backsplash so we went with Continental Stone. In retrospect, even though the backsplash came out great and the job was not a disaster, they botched the sink cutout and we wish we would have used a soapstone specialist.
Interestingly, we met a couple from Sherborn MA while looking at slabs at Dorado Soapstone. They were using Dave, and found him very accommodating, to the degree that they were able to negotiate a quote of almost $9000 down to about $6000. As I recall it worked out to be less than $70 sq foot - our quote was for over $100 a square foot. Obviously their job was larger, but I wonder if Dave is more interested in doing work in affluent communities, where one job is more likely to lead to another. He just didn't seem very interested in our project.

"Very professional and detailed installation. We wanted to do business with local people that care about what they do and we received exactly that. Price was slightly higher than Lowe's but it was worth every penny of it. We got a personal service that was second to none. It transformed our kitchen into presidential entertainment center. The granite looks great but the finish work makes it incredible. All the edges and corners were polished with great precision and pride.
They took the time to make very precise template of the whole installation.
The 6 foot level that they use gave us a little challenge with the cabinet mounting, but it was definitely worth it. There are no gaps or holes anywhere. They installed solid supports for all the overhangs that guarantee for a strong foundation for lasting results.

"I got a quote from Ray Hoover after seeing his work in my friends' house. His price for top quality, true custom cabinetry was comparable to the price for upgraded cabs from a big-box store, and much less than other semi-custom quotes. I knew his quality would be superb, and it was. He worked with me, making changes I requested to my design right up until he started building the cabinets. The cabinets were installed in one day, on the exact day he had scheduled. Ray is scrupulously punctual and professional. He came back and fixed a couple of little dings with no question or complaint. If you are looking at new cabinets or bookcases, and you live anywhere within driving distance of Penn Yan, you owe it to yourself to visit his showroom, see his work and get a quote from him. "My wife and I wanted new hard woods in our house but had very specific requirements that we could not typically find locally.  My wife wanted a dark floor while I wanted extreme durability in a natural hard wood.  We did our homework and decided that Brazilian Walnut (Ipe) most closely matched what we wanted. 
After looking locally for something that fit the bill, the flooring we found was either over $12 sq/ft (too expensive) or not dark enough.  I started searching on-line and ran across Brazilian Direct.  Their prices seemed reasonable (a bit over $6 sq/ft for what we wanted) and they even had a tinted (dark) version of the floor we liked.
After several weeks of questions and further research, we decided to place an order.  We we worked with a representative named Sannon who helped us every step of the way.  She sent us samples, instructions, guides - everything to make us more comfortable about our eventual order.  Our order came right on schedule and the wood was really beautiful.  After several weeks of the required acclimation we had a local installer put the floor down.  They did an excellent job and we really love our floor.  There was very little waste and in fact we had at least 3 boxes left over.
I highly recommend Brazilian Direct.  We are considering using them again for a deck project we'd like to do in the future.

"I have used several Granite Gold products and like their effectiveness because they do what they are supposed to do. No strong fumes or irritating skin problems. The granite counter top daily cleaner and polish are so easy to use (spay it on and wipe with a paper towel) to keep all your stone products clean and shiny. I was surprised to see how effective the grout cleaner is. I sprayed it on some dirty tire floors in the bathroom and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Then I went over it with the scrub brush they provide. It looked clean then, but when it dried, it was much brighter. This is a 40 Year old bathroom tile floor pictured. Granite Gold also provides excellent professional support."

"It took a lot of phone tag to finally get the technician to our house, but once here he was efficient and professional and did an amazing job. The chip was in the edge of a white quartz countertop, very difficult to match perfectly, and the repair is absolutely invisible. Not the lowest bid, but worth the price."
